Downpipe? Or worn carrier bearing? need more info!!!

Are you running over the curb? Neighbors pets? Is there a passenger in the car that keeps hitting her head on the window when you take off?

Its the round rubber rings around the driveshaft underneath (Carrier Bearings). Go under the car and look at the downpipe. See if its rubbing around the oil pan. If its CLOSE to rubbing, it just may under acceleration as the motor moves. I wedged in a small piece of wood between the downpipe and the body, and tried to make it make the noise again, and it DIDN'T. Then I just adjusted the Downpipe so there was ample space. I bet thats what your issue is. Good luck.

Hmmm, when I put my APS 3" downpipe on I had a similar issue. There was a clunking noise coming from the drivers side wheel well. I had the tech from Auburn Mitsu check it out; I know, bad move but wasn't aware of their track record at the time. Anyway, he said my suspension was going, but when I had a good tech check it out they came to the conclusion that my downpipe was hitting my sway bar. To fix it, I took it to DriftOffice where I bought the pipe and Bill came up with an ingenious and cheap way to fix it. Not saying this is the case for you, but it could be.
