wow..... insurance with State Farm?
I recently just got a quote from state farm, they wanted $2k~ish for 6 months, and I am paying $980/6 months with 21st century for 3 vehicle in the house. I just want to compare see if others insurance are really competitive as they claim.
oh wow.... looks like I might have to do some shopping... possibly ditch State Farm for this car. My record is clean, and yeah, I could do without a few of those things like rental coverage.
state farm is going to be the one of the cheapest you'll find i did alot of searching when i got mine and state farm was one of the cheapest and i am only 19 the fact it is so expensive for u young people is that it is new but once you hit 21 it will go down
You get what you pay for. You have very good coverage for yourself, if you own a house or if you live with your parents. 500000.00 of liability coverage is never cheap, and you have good uninsured motorists coverage. You will be well protected if you are involved in a motor vehicle accident.
Keep in mind you can't compare rates without comparing the policy limits in conjuction with rates and drivng record. Raising your deductible will save some money, but I would do a cost analysis to see how much.

I had a '98 GSR Integra (Which I try not to admit owning, I hated it after I learned they can't turn.) that I hit a deer in before I made my first payment. $7k later (thx airbags) a break in $1,500 claim, and finally the car got stolen (good riddens you POS) for another $18k buyout all in 13 months of owning the car.
Not only was dealing with State Farm totally hassle free, all the above didn't even raise my rates. (I had to send pictures of deer blood, front of the car, aka proof I hit a deer instead of a guardrail.) and it was deemed an 'act of god.'
When the car finally got stolen, I was handed a check for the equity in the car exactly 31 days after it disappeared. They have a 30 day 'wait for return' policy on stolen cars.
AND not to mention, I can take it anywhere I want for repairs, I just need 3 estimates to provide to state farm from repair shops. Their evaluators don't tell me what the parts are worth like so many other companies out there (f**k Allstate), they don't sell me 'aftermarket' part insurance, or any other of the BS stories I've read off Evom.

Yeah, seems like the deductible will make a big difference over a few years time. As for saving a couple hundred extra bucks, I am gonna get the good student discount and that saves $540, so my rates already went down to under 2k. The quote was for me, not for my dad, so when it is in my dad's name, that will lower the cost as well. I would like to have it in my name, but it is a lot more money to have it in my name...
Everything that has happened with my family and cars, State Farm has done very well with handling our claims (my sister totalled our 97 f150 and they gave us more than what it was actually worth) and numerous amounts of other accidents (have two sisters who like to speed and wreck cars). I am the only one in the family with a clean record besides my mom... knock on wood.
I have been pulled over about 18 times though.... hahaha (exhaust, no seat belt, no mud flaps, apparently took a corner too fast, the list goes on...)

It's crazy, my insurance is the same no matter what car I put on there.
I had an 89 summit w/ 4g63 swap - $610.00 / year for liability.
Switched it to a 98 GS300 same price.. $610 / year for liability
adding a MK4 Supra .. $610.00 / year for libabilty.
My insurance is wierd.. It's the same price for full coverage on all the cars as well. I use an insurance broker, but it's odd they are all the same price no matter the make / model options etc.
26 / Male / No Records / Good Credit *SHRUG*
