It is a 1970 Lynx formula vee. I have updated a lot on the car and raced it one season of autocross and one hillclimb. The car is a lot of fun to drive and very fast. I have updated the main hoop to SCCA standards. I am 6'3" and fit in great with room to spare. I will sell it two different ways depending on what the buyer wants. I need to sell this because I bought a different car and need to pay it off. I had a blast racing this car and hope someone will buy it and have as much fun as I had in it. If you have any questions let me know. I will deliver it up to two hours drive from Salem Oregon if needed.
One way is as I raced it. The engine is a 1776 with duel 44 Webbers and a Rino transmission. I blew a bearing at my last race, so the Transmission will need a new bearing and possibly an axle. Being VW the parts are really cheap. It also has Brembo disc brakes all around. The engine, transmission and brakes put it in the BMod class and out of the vee class. Asking $2500
Option two is I can swap everything from my 57 beetle onto it with the drum brakes, transmission and 1200 engine. This will make it an original vintage car and be able to run the vee classes. This is what I was going to do so I could have some competition and run vintage races. But all the running gear will need to be rebuilt going this way. $1000
Engine shot of the 1776. The exhaust is equal length which I think make it sound awesome.
