Synchronic BOV installed... pics and impressions
#17
I just installed this BOV as well and like it but have recently started to have a leak from the recirculation fitting, how do you have the the recirculation fitting seated in the BOV? pressed to the bottom? pulled to the top? Is your fitting lose at all?
Your install looks great btw.

the fitting at the end of BOV, the piece that you connect the hose to and clamp. That piece on mine has begun to leak and I am not sure why, it's only sealed by an O-ring and you can remove the piece pretty easy. You have to remove it to install the anti-stall kit. Just wondering how you have yours seated and if it's lose at all?
Thanks

^I have no context/history with the Synapse but I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you want to secure this piece that is responsible for diverting 30psi (if it were my case) with more than an o-ring. Did you look at your setup before putting this bov on, or did you buy the car like this?

/\ agreed - it should be a screw in piece, not sure why it's only a press in fitting. It was like this when I purchased the BOV, I paid it no attention as I had not heard any issues relating to this piece. Upon install it did not leak, about a month later it's begun leaking from that area.

Probably because when you first installed it the hose was nice and stuck on there. Over time that has backed off a little and now leaking? Did you buy it new? If new, you should talk to whomever you got it from.
FWIW - if you bought it used a lot of people may not include a flange, clamp, etc. because they are still using it. I would hope they would tell you that, but they might not even think about it. Can you not get a t-bolt and clamp down the connection for the time being?

It's new. It's not the Tbolt clamp. I believe I may have found the issue, however I don't think I have this securing screw in the link (2nd picture with the anti-stall kit installed).
Little securing screw at the bottom of the opening.

The part that you have to take out to install the anti-stall kit correctly is what is leaking on mine.
The screw looks like it secures the recirculation fitting, I'll have to recheck when I work on the car this weekend, can anyone confirm that they have this screw to secure the fitting?
