I am going to be doing a little mid-winter detail on my evo this sunday. I have room for one more vehicle in the (heated) garage.

I will be doing a wash, clay bar, polish, wax and interior detail.

Willing to provide:
-Space
-chemicals
-insight/knowledge

Not willing to provide:
-I'm not detailing your car for you. I have my own car to clean. But willing to "teach you how to fish"

Asking:
-Chip in a few bucks for chemicals if you want (encouraged)
-good smack-talker as you will have to put up with me for a while

Unfortunately I only have one Porter Cable random orbital so if you want to use some of my chemicals for a polish you will have to provide your own orbital. (I have enough pads for two people to work)

As I dont know that many of you folks yet i'll let you chime in with interest and if there are multiple people then, unfortunately, i'll have to choose one of you based on if I have met you before and that sort of thing. Sorry to be a douche about that, but I dont have room for more than 1 extra car and i'd prefer to work in the garage with somebody I know (if only a little bit) and get along with.

Garage is in South Bellevue near Lake Washington, i'll PM directions if somebody takes me up on this.

 

Lord knows my car needs it. Bad. Sadly I'll be omw to the snowy peaks of the East. Where the sheep flock like the birds of Capistrano. A little place called...Whitefish.

 

I dated a girl from Whitefish MT. Cute girls are grown there.

 

Actually I changed it from Polson to Whitefish, as it sounded more remote. Whitefish is actually the Billionaires club. They are literally pushing those pesky Millionaires out.

And I will give you that Montana is full of that girl next door type.

Sounds fun dude plus its finally a little warmer out. I guess in ur heated garage you probably don't notice how cold it is outside! My garage is unfinished and I freeze my *** off laying on the concrete!!

hey ryan. winter season offically starts late december isnt it?

 

"Late december" would be after the 16th as that is the mid-point of the month. So this was officially in the winter season.

Cleaning went great, this was my first mini-detail with the evo since I got it. The clay bar which starts out as a bright yellow was a very dull grey afterward.

Razor bladed the windows and it was like shaving your face, there were almost chunks of sediment and crud comming off the car.

Spent a good 20 min on my back with the pipe between my legs giving it a vigerous scrubbing with lots of hand motion using steel wool and some polish as a lube. Edit: This is in reference to the exhaust pipe.

Decided to use a teflon sealant rather than a carnuba wax as it would have taken 90+ minutes to cure the carnuba prior to removal and I was tired.

Overall it went great and it only took a little spray detailer and wipe down to touch up after the ride into work.
