Got the Thumbs down from a WRX
Posted this yesterday on the EvoX forums but thought I would share.
The other day I stopped by the carwash on the way to work to vacuum out the X. As I was hanging up the vacuum hose a group a civics rolled up all riced out. This fat kid with his hat on backwords walked up to me and asked if I wanted to race. I said, "No I don't want to get in trouble." He said, "I don't see any cops around." So I pulled out my badge and said well I'll be on duty in an hour, I'll keep an eye out for you. He humbley walked back to his car and they drove off.

^ +1 lol
Dont know how you learned your lesson, but i learned mine the hard way.
Evo + Rear bumper of Semi = Lesson learned
I'm now on my second evo..... :-(
Had some D-bag in a hatch civic give me the thumbs down on the freeway pretty funny when he down shifted and shot a **** load of smoke out the exhaust and was barley moving away from me when i was doing about 70mph just crusin. He continued to about 100 then slowed down and got off the freeway and threw the thumbs down. i thought about catching him and tease him while i pass but i already learned my lesson about racing once and its not worth it.

^did the big guy "cut ya off?" How in the fugg do you rear-end a semi???
outstanding, and thanks for sharing the story! When I was 18 I wanted to be a cop for situations exactly like the above. Then I realized that wasn't enough of a reason.
I don't get the mentality of approaching a total stranger in public and asking them if they want to race. I would hope that I never hear of an Evo owner doing something so ridiculously retarded, but I'm sure it has happened.

Lucky to get any response? Back in 1986 when I bought a 2002 BMW every other BMW I saw would flash their lights or wave hello. Nobody owned a BMW then. Only engineers or other intelligent people would even know what a BMW was.
Now BMW's are everywhere, they are not special anymore and nobody waves to each other. But Sti's and evolutions still have communication with each other, even if it's thumbs down! We still show enthusiasm with each other whether Sti or Evo. Still a cool group compared to cookie cutter BMW's that all look the same these days.

well.... when you are coming around a corner going.... a bit too fast.... and the semi is parked... and when i say parked, i mean like, he was out of the semi up at the house parked, HALF WAY IN THE HIGHWAY!!!!!
there were cars in the ther lane and i couldnt stop fast enough. so i learned to slow down...... that wont be happening again....

Id be pretty bitter too if I was stuck behind the wheel of a boxer.
With the way prices are dropping on these cars, its making it affordable for a much younger crowd. Ive observed a lot of stupidity coming from this new crowd. They love the boxer sound. I know a kid who took his muffler off his "new" salvaged STi just so the exhaust was more pronounced, that was his only "mod." Ive had conversations with kids who claim STis are leaps and bounds a better car, being more efficient and all (he actually claimed the EJ puts out power easier than the 4G). It comes to a point where we just have to sit back and laugh at their ignorance. Let the tools flock together and lets enjoy our own community.
Im not saying every Subaru owner is like this. I know quite a few chill Subaru guys who are car guys altogether and have respect for anything that deserves it. Its the kids that get on my nerves who think they know it all and claim the STi to be the holy grail of all tuners.

Tim, people actually recognize the car? I get absolutely no attention from anyone on the road. When I try to provoke anyone, I think they assume I am just wasting their time with moms green family 4 door of the past.

ouch!
Before getting into Evo's I wouldn't have realized Tim's car as an Evo 0!

"Dont worry about the ones who run their mouths all day bragging, but rahter worry about the ones who sit in a corner in silence."
This applies to cars as well as people. ;P

Well it's either I get ignored, or you have the guys that actually know their cars and that throw the thumbs up or nods when rolling past. The punk *** kids just ignore it, which is fine, though there are those few that if I happen to lift my foot off the gas/between shifts hear me vent think I'm wanting to race, but I'm not just trying to merge lanes. Most of Scoobie owners on the island that I've met are chill.
It's whatever, sometimes you get props, sometimes you don't. For the most part I get left alone.
