I guess lynnwood police has a big problem with my car as 4 charger cops pull me over, and complain that my car is to loud and i have many illegal modificiations done to the vehicle. They decided to give me a ticket for the exhaust, but that didnt stop the other cops from checking out my window tint, looking through my hood vent, shining lights under my car lmao.

Its whatever tho, i figured they prolly hate me now, or they will keep pullin me over so if anyone wants a Greddy ti full Titanium w/tip exhaust 3" no resognator im down to trade for something. lol

Or any suggestions to other exhausts that might be a little more quiet, eventhough my car is cammed!

Also is it worth fighting the ticket or should i just pay the 130 bucks and call it good?

 

Check out the perrin one and paint it black. My friend has one and lots of people think its stock.

 

Go with a stock exhaust and dump. Were you getting on it, as most exhausts aren't loud unless you are railing on them. Could you get a resonator? Is it TBE, cat-back, axle-back?

I'd fight it, or see if you could get someone to say you removed it but they might continue to give you grief. Good luck.

i was in a parking lot not even moving lmao. Its a full exhaust system straight piped to the DP. I figured i could just get a resognator! Bcuz of my cams my car idles a little bit high so thats prolly why the cop was being a deuche!

 

Wa cops are cracking down on this law for some reason... I live in southeast side and got pulled over also. a week later my bro got pulled over in his integra and his exhust is stock exept for a muffler? they told us any mod to the factory system is not legal . I ended putting a resonator 30" and new muffler with 3" tip, still loud but looks factory. I'll se what happens. you can try to fight it, good luck.

 

I used to work in Lynnwood and cops never gave me anything *knock on wood*. Is yours the rolled tip Greddy? I have the TI-C with a test pipe and cops drive by me all the time with no glance.

 

i was told this same thing when i got pulled over for my exhaust here in kirkland..."anything not factory is illegal" stupid law!...I would have asked the cops for their qualifications in determining what a stock exhaust looks like on an EVO jkjk...fight it for sure and let us know how it turns out...good luck!

Serously though, that totally sucks. I'd fight it, even if it cost more just so the funds won't be going to the state.

BTW - I recently fought a ticket that had an aftermarket exhaust citation on it and got it dropped. That wasn't the entirety of the ticket and I may have approached it differently if it was simply a fix-it ticket.

It probably didn't hurt my case that he was referring to the "obviously non-OEM exhaust on my Subaru." Of course, it probably didn't help my chances of walking away without a ticket when I corrected him.

*edit - just saw boosted's comment. I'm all for that in most cases but if it is simply a fix-it ticket and there is no fine if I can prove it was fixed, I would go about it differently.

I thought it was as it was as long as it was under a certain db level and it passed emissions it was legal. But some cops are d***'s

 

what exactly is the ticket for? noise or the fact that they "believe" it is not stock? if its for noise and they had no sound measurement equipment except their ears... case closed you win.

 

They just wanna probably check out your car. See you have a big muffler tip so they think is not stock exhaust.
