Dinner Auction Meet
Dinner Auction Meet
Dear EvolutionM Community ,
What: A club I am part of at Seattle University will be hosting our first annual fundraiser to help support our trip to panama this summer. This event is a dinner and auction, and all proceeds will go directly to the club to help send more students to panama. So I am asking the Evom community to come help support a fellow member, and to let everyone you know about this event. Any and all support is helpful.
Why: During the week of June 20-27, 2010, we will be traveling with legal professionals to Panama in order to alleviate poverty in developing communities. Our “law brigade” will partner with the U.S. Peace Corps as well as local and indigenous organizations and attorneys in Panama. We will learn about international and domestic law in Latin America, then consult with community members to research, prepare, and implement legal strategies to address the specific needs of our partner organizations and communities we will serve. The projects we have planned include supporting legal processes for eco-tourism, organic certification, and agro-forestry. All of our projects are aimed at empowering underserved communities to be able to advocate for their own human rights by connecting them with the skills and legal resources that the communities ask us to provide.
When: Friday, April 23, 2010
Where: Campion Ballroom 914 E Jefferson St Seattle WA 98122
If you have any other questions, please contact me directly at (520) 991-7488 or at kayw@seattleu.edu. Thank you for your consideration and for your generous contribution to our local community.
