Looking to drive a Quartermaster Twin!

I'm on the fence about a few clutches and one of them is the new revised quartermaster twin, which is supposed to be improved compared to their older version.

My question is... does anyone in the NW have the new or old style quartermaster that would let me drive it around the block to see how engages and how much noise it makes?

I'd be willing to pay for lunch or the like. Thank you

-Eric

I have the HD right now... I'm considering rebuilding it...or moving to a 7.25" twin.

I had a qm twin in my talon. It's quite a bit noiser then the exedy. I ran Borge the exedy and qm in my talon. The engagement it's pretty rough with the qm, the exedy dd's way better. I know dsm's are different, but I like the exedy clutches quite a bit and they last longer generally.

The revised QM is better in nearly every aspect.

I believe the reason the the Evo QMs weren't lasting was because the disc hubs were making contact before the discs wore out, its an easy fix, so as far as the Exedy lasting longer, it's up in the air. The revised QM will not have this problem.

A local down here is selling his Evo to a guy in Seattle, the car has the original QM that's been rebuilt and had the hubs machined. If you can track him down (not sure if he's on here), he may be down for a free lunch.

I have had tilton twin exedy twin and quarter master twin, go with the exedy twin and if you have the extra cash get the exedy triple best drivability longest lasting and holds the most power!

I was trying to wait for the street version to come out to. I found a used tripple and went that route instead.
Any word on the release date of the street version?

I know the sprung hubs is a huge factory to reducing drivetrain noise, but the large diameter exedy discs certainly don't help shifting.

were you gettin lockout with your exedy? A coulple guys here in Orlando run the old style QM it is noisey but they swear by them for shifting esp at the track.

It was adjusted properly, but it wouldn't make the 1-2 shift at 8500 after a 1.6 60'

You can try mine out Eric, I have the old QM twin with and fp black so it could give you an Idea of what its like. I will also be going to English this week so let me know.

For shifting fast and holding power nothing comes close to the QM, exeddy is really nice for smooth shifting, starting, but the pedal pressure is much higher.
Also unless you upgrade to the push style $$$ the retaining clip can always pop out.
QM FTW.
