Alignment shops

I am looking for a shop to do an alignment on the X and was hoping someone knew some shops other than Les Schwab they could recommend. I went to the Les Schwab in Lacey and was told my car was too low for their rack, so I ended up going to the Stanwood Les Schwab. The tech was nice enough, but didn't seem to realize which arm did what on the rear suspension. After trying to use a come along to move the suspension and almost stripping an eccentric bolt, I told him to just leave it alone. Basically I am running 1 degree of rear toe on the driver rear, he kept telling me the rear control arm controlled toe and the toe arm controlled camber (I know they relate to each other, but gross adjustment is done with each arm.)

So after dealing with crappy rear eccentric bolts (stripped one going off track, and another during normal driving), I am upgrading the rear arms and looking for a shop that knows what they are doing.

BTW, Stanwood only has one tech that does alignments, so the rest of the staff was of little help.

TC motorsports in Auburn. $190 I believe what they charge for a full alignment/camber. They prep for Pro 3 and Spec Miata. I'm going there next week.

Actually, I dont support them at all anymore and will politely remove any reccomendation I may have made to doing business with them..... They have made some questionable business decisions and the way they handled a few things is less than acceptable.

Thanks for the quick replies.

I have a feeler out to Bel-kirk for a lip repair (will have a JDP do luck replica lip for sale soon, never mounted, had a small chip in the clear.) will have to see what they can do on an alignment.

Jnut you have PM.

$190 for an alignment is crazy unless it is a years worth. I have a similar performance shop in Texas that did my corner balance and 4 wheel for less than that. They have supported multiple winning teams and have worked for companies like Ishtook and LG motorports whne the were doing world challenge racing.

I got the lifetime alignment from Firestone. The manager for the Firestone on Martin Luther King Junior Way owns an Evo, so he should know how to work on them. I also go to that store because their alignment racks are lowered car friendly.

If you find somewhere local that is cheaper for a 4 wheel alignment and corner balance please let me know. $190 doesn't seem that unreasonable to me. The local tire shops if Federal Way charge ~$75 just for a toe alignment.

Thanks

Hope you go with Bell Kirk. My review will go up about them hopefully by the end of the week. Wheels and OEM parts straight from Japan arrived

Funny that your car was too low for the allignment rack at Lacey Les Schwab. I got mine up there just fine and Im considered slammed by many. They even adjusted my camber as desired, which was simply the more aggressive factory setting of -2 degrees all around.

I would like to know more about this too...I have heard that they have become somewhat shady and awhile back a buddy of mine got an insanely expensive quote for some work done to his slowbalt...I ended up doing the work for him for 1/3rd of the price that they quoted

^^ they went south for that type of work years ago. That's why when I saw mr kauz praising them I assumed maybe they had turned around. I guess not.
