Poor doggie... My beagle was a pro this weekend. I'd set off a 3 stage mortar and he'd come over to it, watch me light the fuse and run back with me to watch. I couldn't believe it, he wasn't fazed at all by fireworks.

Beagles are slow. Give it a few days, if he randomly (random to you) freaks out, runs and hides, then comes back 6 hours later, you'll know.
