do the baking technique for the headlights and paint the inside housing. itll look 100 times better than an overlay...

also, buy OEM 9/ JDM tails.. itll also look 100 times better than smoking the stock 8's

for the legality of the blacked out tails, i would just feel nervous (especially with the retards driving on I5) that I would get rear ended and they tell the judge they couldnt see my brake lights.. just another liability

Eric's right. Bake and spray paint the head lights, and get IX tails.

If you tint spray them they won't show light through as well (cause of an accident).

Here's a pic of mine (wish I had a pic with the lights off).

It's really easy, and there are instructions in the How To section.

The plastic inside the light housing comes off, so it makes it real easy to spray paint.

It does feel a little weird putting your head lights in the oven tho

OR get a set of OEM IX headlights. If you're afraid to do it yourself, just get those. They look a lot classier and nicer than doing it black yourself.

You can also see if someone is selling a set of headlights they've painted themselves.

Tinting the lenses is illegal, do it at your own risk.

As for baking, it's nerve wracking, but it's actually pretty easy. Be careful separating the lenses, as the plastic tabs are fairly weak.

As a side note, my rears are tinted and have been for a while, and I've never been harrassed by the police.

Painting the inside chrome on the headlights gives a clean look. I have used the VHT nightshades on the inside chrome except for the actual reflective light bulb surround. The chrome still shines but it looks black. Doing the taillights all black is a risk even if its legal where your at. There are always some worthless people running around just looking for an excuse to try to sue someone.
I know of alot of people with blacked out tails and for the most part (legal or not) the cops leave them alone as long as the light shows at a reasonable level. I got a spare set I can switch in if need be.
