Lots of Subaru's and Honda's, the Evo's were parked way in the back on the non paved section ( why were we led there when there was PLENTY of parking in the other end with the rest of the cars :/ )

Haha. We're not special. I did overheard a couple STi owners calling Evo's slow compared to their cars when they walked by.

Not surprising coming from the Ken Block nutswingers (I saw a few Subie owners rocking the KB apparel)

That was the guy! He had the white 43 ken block sweat shirt. Ignorant really.

I was just giving someone advice regarding a Supra and I don't know if I've been thinking of this for a while or it just hit me then and there. Our cars don't seem to get much respect, and it makes it that much more difficult for me to make an effort on events like these. I'd rather just hang with tha homies.

My assumptions as follows (BEWARE - huge generalizations ahead):
- Honda/Neon/Scion/etc.: I only assume because the Evo is just out of their range they are jealous. Also, their brother's, wife's, cousin's, kid's trashman once had a 500hp car that once beat an Evo...on the highway...in traffic...twatever
- Subarus: out of competition, this car was born to "hate" our platform, and the owner needs to rationalize their purchasing decision, so at least this makes sense.
- Audi/BWM/anything else just a bit more expensive: since we didn't opt for the more expensive luxury car I assume they look down their nose at our platform. They also have to rationalize their extra expense, so I could see this as an issue as well?

Anyway, one piece of advice I gave is that the Supra is a respected car, moreso than the Evo. I don't really know of anyone that hates on Supras (again, generalization as there is always someone that doesn't like the look, etc.). I'm not ranting, just happened to see 'Zuke's and Keith's post and made me think of this. Carry on.

I was the lead car. Ask the parking lot attendant that told me to park over there.

Really wish I heard that. Funny, I didn't see any evos smashing around the parking lot but saw plenty of subies treating the parking lot and main strip other than what they were intended for. They must not have gotten the memo that the course and strip were closed.

I completely agree with you Dan as far as the evos not getting due respect. As far as I'm concerned, let em hate and get smoked by a 4 door 3300lb car that runs 12's with $2k or less invested into it.

As far as MKIV Supra's are concerned, they are in a different league. They are a poor mans super car. A car that costs a fraction of a true super car, yet the potential to be just as fast, put down 1000rwhp relatively easy, and still be cool enough to be seen rolling with any super/exotic car you can think of.

And trust me, coming from the Supra community I can tell you that there are plenty of people trying to beef with Supra's for nothing. Mainly bikes, domestics, and exotics.

^I hear ya, brotha, but beef and disrespect are two different things; I don't really count the pushrod V8 beef crowd, btw. haha! Oh yeah, I wanted to clarify that I wasn't wondering why the Supra is respected as it is a good platform no question.

It still boggles my mind why our cars are so disrespected given the amazing potential for the "investment" as you pointed out. It doesn't bother me, I just cruise down the road not minding the buzzing biatches (most recent attempted racer was a TL, which is always makes me laugh).

I get the occasional Honda/Acura/BMW/Subie/etc trying to push their cars til it blows up on my daily drive to work. I just can't wait til one actually blows up taking off on me and I can point and laugh But I do also agree with the fact that some of the Honda/Acura crowd hate because they truly wish they could afford one. I believe their were more WRXs than STi's in the lot posing as STi's. :/ But that Supra with the HUMONGOUS turbo deserves a And I don't think any of our group were racing to 20mph in the lot trying to find space

My bad D Grade, wasn't clear who I was talking about. I didn't mean the lead car, I meant the Pacific Raceways workers that told us to park there.

No sweat, just clarifying that it wasn't my idea. I did score us that nice strip along the path though. The chick originally wanted us to park under the pine trees.
