Bellingham doesn't really have any industry worth writing about. They have students and retired people... and people who commute to other places to do work :P

^and people hitting Baker.

@ nollij - buy Crown Royal up North - not nearly as expensive as WA. But the cost of living up there is generally pretty high every time I've been in an area. Of course with an area like Bellingham, which is less than somewhere closer to Seattle, it is definitely a bargain to cross the border to shop.

It isn't like we didn't do the same thing in the 80's and 90's, except crossing the border the opposite direction...and gas was always more up North (by the litre).

Not surprising. Everytime I go up to Vancouver I am surprised at how much a lot of the **** costs. Booze, food, etc.

You Canadians are also driving up the gas costs for us in the area by about $0.20-0.30.
haha gas here is pretty expensive. Cheapest I saw today was $1.34/litre for regular or $5.07/gallon for the US peeps. In Bellingham I filled for $3.49/gallon. That results to about $.92/litre for me. Don't remember last time I've seen gas under a buck a litre in Vancouver
