Meth Injection

Anyone here running it? I'm putting some serious thought in going this route since there is a lack of E85 in my area.

Did you honestly just ask if anyone on the forums runs meth injection? Did you search? There are hundreds of threads covering this and there is a forum specifically for discussing this -

Easy tiger, this is a regional forum and he's free to ask if any locals are running it. Keep the ball busting in the main forums.

Seventh_rx, there are a couple people locally who can tell you why they don't run Meth anymore. I would run denatured alcohol before Meth injection. Not because its better, but safer.

However I'm probably the least qualified person for advise on this thread being I am 100% against injection of any type (personal choice).

The warnings are all there. Use at your own risk. Especially on stock block. I blew my motor at Pacific Raceways with meth at about 460 to 480 whp. If you go into it knowing the big boom can happen, then go for it. It lasted awhile but eventually gave out.

I could of swore Derek was all over the hot beef injection. Am I thinking someone else?

I run meth, and have been for ~3 years; I can't stand the inconsistency that the pump gas has up here. I'm on a pretty conservative squirt, mostly to even out the occasional bad fillup.

As Keith said, the warnings are there, use at your own risk. Definitely go with a quality kit and definitely have as many failsafes as possible. That being said, I have a 55 gallon drum of meth in my garage and i'll sell it for $3/gallon! I need to actually get that in my FS thread (forgot about it).

I've run 50/50 water/meth on my daily drivers for the last 3 years without any issues. For a daily driver you should be using it for the added safety factor over pump gas, and be using a 50/50 mix (not flammable). If you run straight meth to squeeze every last drop of power out of your daily driver, you're asking for problems. I have the AEM kit in my Evo and like it.

Ran 100% meth on my evo 8 with a 9 turbo and then a fp black without any issues at all. (aem kit)

i did have one problem where the fuse blew out where i had the aem kit wired and the kit lost power but my failsafe kicked in and car went to wastegate pressure.

"Conservative" squirt. Let's see how big you want your squirt once you got 3 kids running around!

i personally am not a fan of meth injection. too much risk. unless you have money to blow then it shouldn't even be a factor for you. some serious gains to be had, but it's playing russian roulette with your motor.

Meth to cool the charge is ok. Once you start pulling fuel and rely on meth as a source of fuel, that's when it gets dicey.

There are times in the summer where I wish I had methanol to cool the charge, WOT pulls really heat up the intercooler. It will keep your combustion chamber nice and clean as well
