SmikeSVT - Wut?
Some of you may know me for my Evo. Some might also know that I sold her. Yep, I sold my Evo off. I just got tired of it. Sure great car to race, lots of fun, but eh, I got tired of working on it, daily driving it, driving it across the country. She went to a great home though, my old mechanic from MI. In her exchange, I got me a little pocket rocket. WTF? You say.
The Evo was classed in SM for SCCA, a damn near impossible class for a limited budget. Even under-budgeted, out gunned, out tired, I still held my own. Had a blast doing it too. Track days, the car absolutely shined. Very fast, handled amazingly.
So, on to the new - I picked up a 2002 Ford Focus SVT from a MSU Racing buddy. He took damn good care of this car, and its modded exactly the same as what I did (will explain), and in the same taste as how I modded the Evo - well thought out parts. And I have raced at GingerMan against him. So I am very familiar with what this car can do.
Pre-Evo, I had a 2000 Focus ZX3, with everything thing done that I could do on the car. Perfect, great handling, not the fastest though.

Ok, enough of my blabbing, introducing the new car:

Dave is finishing up the refresh, car has been in storage for 2 years. He has been racing his 96 M3.
I am not going to do much to the car, seriously. otter doesn't believe me. But really, this car is really well prepped. Some little odds/ends and preference stuff and its all ready to go.
I'll get bigger pics up once I am back in OH to do some work on her with otter (brakes, harness, shift indicator).
Oh, and my natural competitor - 04-06 Mitsubishi RalliArt

Thanks guys.
Nah, SVT comes with a factory HFC and 2.5 exhaust already. I am going for quieter for this one. Nice rumble though.
Yep, SCT is on my list since there is some custom parameters available. Too bad my tactrix cable wont work.

*#$*@#@ cant. Stupid SCCA rules. Any body weight lost modifications = SM.
I'd like to get a CF hood and tailgate. Shave a good 100 lbs. Ill probably strip the rear seats out, some weight there, but not that much.

SCT offers a nice bit a kit though. Post up some vids when all is sorted out.
Ford kind of did a dis-service to the Focus when they reorganized and dropped the SVT branding. So, is it SmikeEvo or SmikeSVT?

For sure will get some videos up. Already signed up for an AX in MI.
The SHO is coming back though. The 2011 Focus might be a SVT if they dont use the RS name.
Ha, Ill stay SmikeEvo, everyone already knows me by that name.
It's still a ford though
I keed...good car my friend had one and it was pretty quick. Good little engine too...gonna feel nimble compared to the evo...but the straits aren't gonna be fun

Says the Impreza owner
Ah, forgot to mention. It has the euro grill on it now. Same as the one I had on my old Focus.
And I am looking to get the ST170 headlights. Where did you find yours?
and the ability to fly?
