Wider tires?

i have to get new tires and i was thinking going a bit wider than stock. I know our stock are 225/55/18 and i was thinking of getting 235/55/18. will this be safe? im not too familiar with tires/wheels setups.

If you use the stock rims.. the new size tire (sidewalls) will bulge out a bit, but you will achieve that wide(r) wheel look.

As long as you keep the same diameter tire, the OBC will still keep accurate speed readings and more importantly it'll still be able to properly control DSC.

Alright cool thanks a lot, just wasn't sure if it was unsafe to have a bit wider tire on the wheel or not. I don't wanna make a turn and the tire just flies off the wheels lol

ONLY if you happen to Also hit a speed bump or street curb, then you should expect that rubber to go flying...

yeah i found out that sinse the tire is 55 tall the stretch will not be that aggressive i checked it out online had pics on a website of 225/45/18 stretched on a 9" tire. the 55 will give more room for the side walls for an easier stretch!
thanks!
