Sorry it takes me a while to reply. I have a wedding to be in, in less than 45 days now. Since the unit comes with a microphone, I would think it would be the preferred route to use, because I don't see any way the unit can use the OEM mic setup. I can assure you, it works well at 80mph, with the windshield wipers on in a thunderstorm, even with the microphone mounted on the windshield. I haven't considered using the USB Port and AUX, since we listen to XM Radio and HD Radio than plugging in anything like an iPod. I did buy the iPod cable because every once in a while, my fiancee likes to use her iPod on roadtrips. We've had the unit for months and has since used it.

It's nice to sync with the Bluetooth on the Pioneer head unit, as your whole entire phone directory shows on the screen and can dial out if need be. All calls are displayed on the head unit as well. The only thing I noticed is that when your navigation is en route somewhere, and you're on the phone, the navigation audio will not work or voice over your conversation.

Yes, all functions on the steering wheel are retained on answering phone calls. That is definitely affirmative.

If I can get time this weekend to take a picture, I'll definitely take one. I just have to remember.

Awesome! Thanks for the reply Lunarfx. One step closer to pulling the trigger on the purchase. I do use the usb in the center console, does anyone know if its just a regular USB that plugs into the stock radio, like it is in the aftermarket?

It isnt. Its all included in the factory harness. You will need an aftermarket cable and retrofit your console. I installed a bazooka tube and sound ordnance speakers in mine amd looked when I had the stereo out.

So im running the same exact setup in my evo x.
i had the rockford fosgate system until i got the z150. you do need the metra wire harness and the dask kit. if you would like to keep your OEM steering wheel controls you will have to get that harness for it. if you choose to connect your phone, you will need to get the android or iphone harness.
Your OEM mic will not work, your OEM Fuse will not work.

now the way that your audio will work compared to the Stock system, not anywhere close to stock. its pushing out probably 300 watts compared to the 710 rockford fosgate system. im considering going back to my radio and selling my navi because im big on music unless i end up going with a whole new audio setup.

Slightly related, does anyone know what current the USB port is putting out? I have a shiny new LG G2 and I'm a bit apprehensive about using the port for charging...

Are you talking about the USB port in the center arm-rest bin of our O.Sports..? Off the top of my head, I believe it'll output .5A @ 5V, so you should be fine to charge your brand spanking new LG G2.

I'm jealous! I want that phone..

It's low, that's for sure! My Samsung Galaxy S4 uses a 2A @ 5V charger normally, but the USB port in the O. Sport takes FOREVER to charge. If I am watching Netflix (while parked, like waiting for someone) or some other data and processor heavy task my battery will actually continue to slowly drain. I.e. the phone can actually consume more power than the USB port can deliver.

Yep..
Like I said, you're only going to get .5A from the USB.. that's 4X less than the charger that comes with the phones..

So, you could get one of these >

then use your S4 wallcharger and force feed the phone a bit faster.

Is that any surprise.
Matches the speed of our vehicles, doesn't it.

I towed the ski home yesterday for the end of the season, and oh-em-gee. If you think the OS is slow, try dragging something behind it.

Thanks guys, yeah 0.5A is pretty much a waste of time for charging. The good news is I'm on day 2 of ownership of the G2 and it still has 39% left on the first charge so probably won't need on the go charging after all haha. That's with heavy use, live streaming sports etc. Beast of a phone.
