[Off Topic] 'mini' Cayenne SUV : Macan S
Just seeing what's on the other end of the spectrum...
2015 Porsche Macan crossover SUV
Stats:
3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 for the Macan S, boasting 340 hp, and a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V-6 in the Macan Turbo, good for 400 hp and a 0-60 mph sprint of 4.4 seconds. LINK
You got to love that praying-matis's reaction! @ 0:15

Keeping an eye on the LA Auto Show I assume?
That looks pretty awesome. I'd rock one for sure.
I'm impressed with the new 2014 (2015?) Chevy Colorado. Looks pretty good, IMHO, and the offerings for the price look great.

The new rumors about the NSX are pretty awesome too: http://www.motortrend.com/features/a...train_changes/

Not much of a truck person myself... Just because of those damn live-axles (on leaf springs) in the rear designs. (with the exception of Honda's Ridgeline trucks.)
Wow, that is impressive. Too bad they don't put anything like that down in their "lower end" vehicles.

Personally I'd love one of the new mid-sized that GM is offering. I wasn't sold on the looks of the Colorado at first but I admit that it is growing on me. The feature that has me most excited is the eventual 2.8L Duramax turbo diesel that they will be getting for 2016.

Take a peek at the Porsche customer satisfaction and reliability first. My best friend was all set to buy a Macan and then he took one for a drive. This is a guy who already has a Boxster S. His words were that the Macan was overdressed and overpriced. He bought an X6 instead. Very nice vehicle if you can stand the design.

Always nice to hear the true feelings from a person who's a diehard.
So, did he mean the Macan had too many gizmos when he said "overdressed"?
BTW, isn't this Porsche SUV frame based off of Audi's Q3, something like that anyways? If so then yeah it's overpriced.
PS: I love BMWs, But that X6 shape was weird when it first came out back in '08. (Sport Activity Coupe', say what!?)
It's just odd... Like a hippo pretending to be a pig.

Yeah, my buddy thought the outside was too busy with all sorts of fins and strakes and things and the interior was had far too many bells and whistles. FWIW I think the more recent Cayenne is a nicer looking vehicle. And Audi platform or not, they are way overpriced but that doesn't seem to slow demand, so what do I know?

Sometimes that "demand" is just the herd mentality kicking in.
Just like what I see in the "Truck thing" here in Dallas > Everyday you see single businessman driving these brand new chunky F150 King Ranch pickups, but... They don't own a farm or haul cattle or hay bales, nor carry any large construction equipment. (Well, other than their 5gal hat
)

Plus, seeing SO many people driving their pickups just to haul their ATV, motorcycle, lawn mower(s) or washer/dryer/refrig/plasmaTV than anything else around town...
I wonder why gas prices are so high.
pardon - this is getting Off Topic.
What's more idiotic is the fact there are NO more real farm or ranch land to be had within 70 miles of the metroplex... Unless you're talking about some semi-marsh land by the reservoirs and some creeks.
