Evo brakes fit a os?

Does anyone know if the brembo brakes off a Evo x could fit onto a OS? Or how hard would it be to custom mod a Big brake kit for it ?

I think that question's been asked before. Just can't remember which thread it was in.

I'm thinking if you can find a BBK for an Outlander then that should fit our O.Sports too. Just for kicks.. I saw this >

It's a prototype kit for an Outlander GT

Stoptech has a kit for the Outlander Sport. It was a project in conjunction with Road Race when they built their project OS.

One thing I think you should know..
Our O.Sports come with re-generative braking system.

No, it doesn't allow us to stop on a dime, but it does provide extra electrical power** during braking, so getting a BBK may not be beneficial in the long run other than for purely aesthetic reasons...

**through our re-gen alternators which reduces the fuel consumption by our motor to have to crank that unit during deceleration.

Re-gen braking is on the motor side only, is it not? Which in case should not be impacted by a BBK.

It is on the motor side.
However, the kinetic energy is from the momentum of the vehicle... so, if you have an even stronger/bigger brakes, then it would shorten the time "allowed" to let the re-gen take full effect.

The brakes themselves would not be effected in anyway, of course.

My point was just to let OP know what may happen (worse MPGs) if such a swop is made. Especially when you consider our re-gen alternator costs $1,500.

no need for a BBK or a evo setup IMO since honestly the OS at least here in the us doesnt have enough power to get out of its own way... I think road race has a upgraded rotor and pad package deal that is resonable and as far as I would go for brakes with some SS lines as well on my OS. Until i can swap a Evo X MR under my OS thats all its getting!

I can tell you that the OS brakes are beyond disgusting. Not only does the smart alternator take away feel, along with a premature ABS, but the brakes tend to overheat with amazing ease.
If you can find uprated rotors, go for them. I drive in a third world country where drivers tend to have terrible road manners, and twice have I ended up with vibrating bent rotors after heavy braking (160-0 kph). So it's no longer a matter of comfort or performance for performance sake, but a matter of safety.

Question .

Now you maKing me nervous lol
I was planning on turbo kit for next year so a better braking system is a must ... Kido racing makes a big brake kit for the asx... Does that mean I'm going to have to update the alternator now too.?

no, no..
No need to upgrade the alternator, my point was strictly in reference to the benefit of the re-gen. If you don't care about that then by all means upgrade the brakes.

In all honesty, it probably only saves us about 3-4 MPG in heavy stop & go traffic... I'm guessing.

It's been discussed here before, and I had linked to a discussion on another forum (unfortunately I don't have time currently to go find the thread), but the answer is no, they don't fit (however, only certain EVO sets have been tried - X, IX, VIII maybe? I don't remember specifically).

The difference is the spindle size? or hub assembly? I don't recall exactly, but bottom line was they didn't fit lol.
