Well, I needed some specialized tooling and really wanted to find a fabrication company that can make the parts that I've designed..
It just happened I came across this guy's shop (this was back in April) and I have been patiently gaining this guy's trust and respect to the point where I have finally been able to get him to allow me to video some of his work.

I recorded over two hours of him working on this one part (over 3.7GB of HD streams) yesterday. Took me a good portion of today just to edit it down to this short teaser.

I used to be a machinist years ago. still love getting the Smithy Lathe, mill combo turning and making parts.
I've made a ton of custom parts for R/C crawlers, auto and gun "stuff".
One off pieces can really set you back unless you know who and where to go for them.
What was he making? I didn't have sound.

I figure some of you would really appreciate seeing this hardcore method of hand making a part.
I know I certainly did. I'm still in a bit of shock to see all the equipment this guy has... it's unbelievable.

He was making a custom transmission "spindle" for "The Beast" < at least that's what I'm calling it.
He doesn't want me to disclose exactly what it is, so I hope you understand all the hush hush-ness. But it is BIG.
It's using a 3.8L motor from a Buick... Need I say more? Calls back memories of the mid 80's whenever anyone mentions Buick 3.8 V6, know what I mean?

No doubt about that. I'm very fortunate to find this guy. He was "totally hidden off the beaten path." He's been at this one location for 10 years and I never knew he was there, having driven by the place thousands of times.

I did do some prototype work for rc4wd on a new wide track MOA axle design and some drilled light weight gears.. They were nice enough to send me some parts I requested to modify.
My machine has more than paid for it self. I had for sale a while ago, I just never could strike a deal for someone to take ALL the stuff and tools I had with it. (strange)
I always find something to do with it, so it's not like it just takes up space.

Awesome. I've been off and on for around 20yrs my self. started racing stadium trucks back in the day. even had a Frogger. lol Could have kept up on a pro level, but I started spending more money on trucks and gear than my house.
Crawling is a blast if you've got good terrain for it. Love it. Here's a couple shots of
