question about CCA on oem battery

I am having the hardest time finding the factory batteries cold cranking amps specifications, does anyone know what they are? My battery has been fading hard lately and I have been having to recharge it on my house charger every 2 weeks or so.
I am wanting to buy a smaller battery for the O.S., nothing crazy like the Odyssey I had in my Evo IV, that I had to charge all the time, but something like a OEM battery out of a S2000. That way it is still large enough so I will not to charge it all the time, but is still an inch less in length and 2 inches less in width. This will also help me when I install the intercooler piping, making more room and not forcing me to put the battery in the truck.

here is the issue

O.S. CCA specs. = (battery says nothing on it & internet says N/A)

s2000 CCA specs. = 500 CCA & 625 cranking amps

I live in TEXAS and it never gets to ZERO Degrees here, and it if it did I would be inside like a sane person should lol, the coldest it gets here in Houston is 30's for a few days maybe...

Any thoughts???

this is the s2000 battery I was looking at it is $129.00 after -15.00 core charge and the have 20% off the internet price as well right now.

Well I have found out my answer, I guess, the stock replacement shows that 520 CCA are needed so I think I will be ok with 500 CCA on the smaller s2000 size oem battery, either way it has a 5 year warranty.

this is the link showing the stock CCA is 520

I've been wondering the same thing..

Thanks for looking it up for all of us!

& For a basic 4cylinder that we have, I think we're good with 500CCA.

Official Outlander Sport OEM Battery Specs (ASX / RVR)

Guess when in doubt, it's best to just take a peek at the battery itself...

Thanks mine does not say that it has no stickers on the top it's all black and grey on the sides has no markings, and it died again today! When I tried to start it it started clicking and beeping and all crazy stuff. After I charged it and started it back up now it got a warning light that says manufacture warning airbag check light.
so frustrating.

1. You're welcome.
Knowing that nothing was out there online (not even from Mitsu's site) that give us specifics on our battery... Kind of bothered me.
I just needed to be 100% certain myself.
Glad to help.

2. About your "stock" battery. That is a bit odd... No markings?
Hmm.. Don't know what to say about that.

3. Regarding the Airbag Warning Light > No worries buddy!
I've seem similar things occur many times in BMWs, it happens when the voltage (on a dying battery) falls below a particular level. Makes the ECU/electronics spazz-out.

If you like to confirm - check the voltage at the battery while the engine is running. See if you're getting at least 14.4 Volts.
Or,
Simply drive up to Autozone and have them test the battery for free.
They'll give you a readout/printout on its condition.

This is the battery I rolled off the lot with....

and thanks for the info. About the battery I check and could not find an air bag fuse to see if it was blown or something... is this something that will turn off if I drive it enough to register the volts? I drove it last night about 30 Miles but was still on so I disconnected the battery to today and started it up but it still has that "manufacture service airbag system" light on...

sucks.

I see..
Well, I guess Mitsu was cheapin' out with those non-labeled/branded batteries then. (No wonder there hasn't been any info on those factory batteries online )

Sure thing, glad to help.
Quite honestly, when you consider our TX Summers AND the proximity of the battery to the engine (WITHOUT even a heat barrier) it's kind of surprising that our batteries don't croak sooner from all that Heat.**

Any how, once you confirm that old battery is failed and replace it with new, the Service Airbag Warning should clear. If nothing else you can still bring it to the dealership and have them clear it since it was caused by a lame stock battery -
It's a service warranty issue, IMO. Actually it's covered under Restraint System (category issue) : 5-yrs/60,000 miles. , LINK.

Side Note: I've been looking into fabricating a heatshield of some kind to help protect our batteries.. It may be something I need to do sooner than later.

** As compared to the batteries being located in the rear/trunk of other vehicles/models.

reguarding the check airbag thats just a registered error and should be taken to advancy or the dealer to reset the code i would pick advance they do it for free. have removed the battry multiple times when setting up my amps and once in a while that air bag message comes up. the dealer said that it comes off and it stick and can only be reset with the plug in error code reader. i go to advance and they reset it for me.

Awesome, thanks for the link on the 5 year 60k miles warranty, I bought a gold auto craft battery from advanced auto online, cause it was 15% off and had a $18.00 core refund as well. It came out to $112.00, not to bad at all, and it has a 3 year replace no questions asked warranty.

Think I will drive it up to them today and have them try and erase the code error if my personal code eraser will not take care of it.
Thanks a lot guys for the link and info. hopefully I can get the warning light off soon.

My OEM battery also died pretty early. I had to replace it over a year ago.
