New Mitsubishi Owner Here
New Mitsubishi Owner Here
New (and first time) Mitsubishi owner here, so I figured it would be a good idea to join this forum and keep up with everything.
My back story (sorry if long):
We were in the market for a new SUV, and after reading expert (not consumer) reviews, etc., decided to go with a CRV. This choice was based solely on reputation. Luckily, the day before purchase, I read about the horrible vibration issues with their new CVT, and decided it wasn't worth it.
We proceeded to drive the CX-5, RAV4, Rogue, Forester, and Tucson. The CX-5 seemed like a good fit, so that was the new apparent winner.
The Outlander Sport reviews weren't that great, so I never gave it much thought, but curiosity got the best of me, and I had to drive one before buying the Mazda seeing the Mitsu had the same basic body style and was more affordable.
It was then I discovered what seems to be a well kept secret. The Outlander Sport 2.4 performed very well during my test drive, and it delivered everything we were looking for. The price was fantastic, the warranty seems great (haven't had to use it yet), and we pulled the trigger.
Almost 1,000 miles in, it has been a great vehicle, and we are very pleased with our purchase.
Sorry for the long winded rant, just wanted to share how I got here.

Welcome to the family! I'm 33k miles in, still love it. Wish I would've went with the AWC model, but that's a different story
haha
Would love to see some pics of it when you get a chance!
I had a similar buying experience, although I was between a midsize sedan or suv. Was mainly looking at used BMWs since that's what I previously had (poor thing was totaled out though, lol). Had a great 5 series all picked out, but I was suggested to give a "normal" car a chance (aka: any car with cheaper repairs). Landed at a Mitsu dealer to look at one of their used cars and totally fell in love with the O.Sport, and it's price was unbeatable for the options it comes with.

it just goes to show you that Mitsubishi's "well-kept secret" is just a another way to say "HORRIBLE advertising".

my only (very minor) gripes so far are:
- iPod loading time (solved by using a USB flash drive)
- body roll (problem is more my perception of it - i do realize its an SUV, and i daily drive an Evo, so its just a very different feel to get used to.)
all-in-all its a great vehicle, and i look forward to trying out the AWD this winter.

Welcome to the club!
I guess I cant say that I am a new owner of a OS. I have had my 2011 Outlander sport SE 2wd for about 2.5 years. I bought the car with 23k miles on it and it now has about 93k miles. Just recently I decided hey i'm going to google my car and see what I can find. I found this forum and saw what you guys have been doing to yours. Thought I would join I have been looking for performance parts and what not but i have no idea what is compatible with my car. I understand that some of the EVOs have the same 4B11 engine. What parts are compatible do you guys know?
