I know I have not been posting up a lot lately or commenting, and it is mainly do to the fact 2 weeks ago while sitting at a red light while headed to work @ 6 in the morning, a lady in a 2011 Tahoe was not paying attention and plowed into the back of my O.S.. My O.S. is pretty low and her Tahoe is pretty high so she cleared my rear crash bumper and her front bumper totally crushed in my rear lift gate. it pushed the spare tire forward about 5 or 6 inches totally crushing in the rear lower compartment of my trunk as well. It also split my rear bumper in half like it was cut with a box cutter, broke my tail light ect. ect.. I finally got a rent car 2 days later because she was dragging her feet not answering the calls from the insurance. We both have allstate and it does seem like things are going smooth now. I have the car at the shop and they are replacing not repairing all the messed up parts. It looks like there is no frame damage, but she did do about $3,300.00 in damages to the rear end of my O.S....

I messed up my right wrist and have to wear a brace for a while do to the fact my hand was on the bottom of the steering wheel when she hit me and it bent my hand all the way backwards. My neck was thrashed too cause the impact was so hard. I was really lucky I was a car and a half back from the vehicle in front of me, because I was super close to hitting it after my vehicle finally stopped moving forward... I had to miss 2 days of work and 2 half days because of no vehicle and then the doctors appointments I had to make... been frustrating to say the least...
The lady driver was fine and it was still dark and here Tahoe was black, but the only damage I saw on her vehicle was the license plate frame was broke and tilted.
I am just thankful it was not worse.

Sorry to hear man. Coulda been a heckuva lot worse so take heart in that at least. Get good rehab.

 

Gotta wonder why people need these heavy ***, tall SUVs just to go pick up a video at a RedBox. Imagine being in a hatchback, or on a motorcycle with this dingbat behind you. Could have been much worse. Hopefully this isn't costing you a dime.

ha thanks guys, they are paying for everything, time off, docs, car, depreciation value ect. mainly because we have the same insurance I think is why they are trying to make me happy. And yes Houston is a MECA for huge vehicles... my next will be a lifted jeep unlimited with steal bumpers lol...

I KNOW EXACTLY how You feel!
Been there and had a girl do the same damn thing to our other OS.
We had to get a lawyer and it took awhile to settle our case to our satisfaction.

still have not got my Outlander Sport back....ugh I feel like I own this jeep patriot rent car lol... I have put like 2500 miles on it already and I only drive it to work, oh an work is only 20 miles away from the house....smh
