Canbus LEDs?

Do license plate bulbs have to be CANBUS? I was going to buy locally, but not at 10-12 bucks a bulb! So off to the usual suspects where there are bulbs for 70-95 cents each. But do they have to be CANBUS?

I don't *think* mine are CANBUS, but I could be wrong. Honestly, at the price and ease of installation it's worth the gamble. Worse case scenario you spent $2. Mid case scenario they don't work in the OS, but work fine in your wife's/kid's/relative's/neighbor's car.

Nope. You're good with a regular LED bulb.

I'm pretty sure mine are from VLED's and I've had them in for over 3 years.

EDIT: The license plate bulbs were actually from eBay. Interior, under-hood, and reverse light bulbs were from VLED's.

Getting VLEDs to Canada is insane. The prices are off the hook. Hence Samsung bulbs via the usual suspects.

Just to give you an example of what I'm talking about; yes wxpensive but worth it. The small 168 led or their zevo line is like 10$-15 US for 1, for reference

Well that is just Stoopid (tm) IMHO. I can often get the exact same product from Ali or DX for 1/5 to 1/10th of the cost. Serioulsy - $13 bucks for an LED bulb??? The size of a thumbnail??

Lol it's the quality too as well, all those cheap ones don't last long and burn out quick. You're paying for quality. Just saying that's all. Damn that much CAD though. I usally buy all at one time though

Yeah, 10 for 7 bucks means I can replace them often if needed. Although IME that is not the case. BTW removing the socket for them is a PITA. I'd rather not do it regularly, but if I can save 1000% I'll do it.
