I'm now starting to get concerned about my transmission.

I'm at 39K now with my 2015 and when I'm driving at a steady speed I notice the car will "jump" forward in RPM's.

For example I'll be on the highway cruising and then my RPM gauge will just suddenly throttle up like 500rpms on its own.

I also just found this.....

http://www.autoblog.com/2016/08/15/2...-sport-recall/

Now, in my last service which was about 3 weeks ago they did update my CVT control unit with the latest software.

This is the second update that they have done since i have had my vehicle and I'm really not liking all of these issues that I have been having.

I am going in tomorrow for that same recall and flash. Did you notice any difference after the flash?

Yes, my gas mileage seemed to improve a little and from a standstill the RVR did respond better.

It's just now after that I have the weird RPM lunging when driving at a constant speed.

It doesn't happen all the time, but its definitely noticeable.

I know you've done the recall update for the 2015 which is good, but have you changed the trans fluid and filter yet?? or when was the last time you did it

Do we have a transmission filter that is serviceable? I have been doing research on this this change my self and haven't seen anyone talk about a filter just drain and fill through dip stick.

yes there are 2 filters, the one which is inside the trans pan apparently doesn't need to be changed until 100k, but there is another filter that is under the battery tray that is part of the cooler, if you change/flush your trans fluid I would change that at the same time. yes both are serviceable/ can be changed. done plenty of research on it and know someone who has personally changed them

Now for the one that is inside the trans, this is all the info for the one under the trans including pan, filter, plugs etc

this is for a 13 SE, just go to the site go to your year model trim, and click "ENGINE" and you should see the image on the left

No I haven't done any of those yet. I believe the service interval for that is at 48K so it would be on my next service.

According to the service manual in the link it says 48K (download full schedule)

https://www.mitsubishicars.com/owner...nance-schedule

I think that's why its so confusing. They never told me it needed to be replaced when I took it in.
