Hey Folks, has anyone racked up enough milage on their early Outlander Sport models that they have had to replace the intermediate pipe? I have a few small leaks and have found that the factory replacement is $1000, and there are no aftermarket options. Has anyone come up with a custom work around using other parts / pieces that won't make it so difficult that it's easier to just bend down and take the import only shaft? Pic for fun -
I developed a complete break (red circle) about 8 inches behind the catalytic converter (5), is that (24) what you're calling the intermediate pipe? I was able to slap on a 5"x2" clamp to join the broken ends about 30k miles ago, so far so good.
On my Sport I removed my muffler and resonator. Right before where #24 is I welded in a matching size exhaust piece that runs up into my custom setup. Sounds great and little cabin noise.
