It doesn't take a bunch of racing parts to do it. Just show up with some tires that have a little tread and brakes that work - and have fun. It's more about having fun driving your car then what sort of lap time you run.... at least at first.
Easy solution, don't run a lap timer

(For most it's stopwatches anyhow, if you have a transponder already, I"m not talking to you)

I used to pull lap times off my in-car video. Now I have a GPS data logger so I can review all the data.

If you build it they will come... if they aren't wusses (Aaron and Lucas... just a sunday drive for you guys).

That does look fun...if only I had the right engine to take me around it!

What do you all think I should go for? I am undecisive right now and need a little guidance. Basically there are four options on the table:

1. Turbo stock engine
2. Save up and buy an imported Evo 4 engine and tranny
3. Save up and get lucky and find an Evo 8 engine and tranny
4. Buy a 4G64 from the Eclipse and make a 2.4L stroker monster

Right now I am leaning towards number 4, what do you all think?

Congrats on the next step my friend!! Wish I could get my sh#t together and do the same some day soon......

Thanks bebe and thanks everyone for the support. Im gonna need my EDR crew to hold me to it, but I am not really gonna spend any more money then is needed for maintenance, as hard as that may sound. I just bought some rod bolts for security if I run ethanol here soon, but no more mods for awhile. W/ me starting up and finishing up school again, and my very low wage I make I need to buckle down and start saving larger sums of money and pay off what little I have left on my CC.

use a 2.4 block but dont build a 2.4 build something cool... such as a 2.2 or a long rod 2.1
