Hey all, I want to run something by everyone to see if I can get a little more clarity on something.

I installed a Cobb SRI tonight. Basically just an air cone on my MAF. How lean would/should this make my car run? I took it out for a quick test and the turbo didn't surge as it used to. Seemed more responsive. I've been trying to search on this, but most of the info seems impartial.

I have an AEM inlet on the way, and I plan to replace the inlet as well. But if a tune is an immediate necessity I'll probably take the items off til I can get down to ER.

The car has mods already. From what I can see: after market headers, HKS EVC, HKS tbe, and possibly after market turbo outlet. I would assume that the car would run like a wet turd if it wasn't tuned with all of those bots already installed. I just don't know because I bought it from a dealership.

With the mods you listed, if your car isn't throwing codes it most likely is tuned. Just installing a test pipe on a stock X throws a Check Engine Light.

Ryan, you only "passed" emissions because you hit on the hot DEQ chick. None of us would have been able to... just you.

 

So, it would be moderately safe to say that the intake probably helped? Haha. It was also WAY louder than I expected.

 

Anyone out in Spokane/Pullman area?

Another note with intake, I was getting on the freeway, and I decided to give it the beans to get more of a feel for the car. The HKS EVC showed that I peaked at 26 PSI, but during this I heard some popping. I didn't know what it was. I was worried that a hose had come loose, but that wasn't the case.

Nothing seems to be amiss, but it seems like the car wants to boost higher, and the SRI sounds more quiet? Maybe I'm paranoid? I set my EVC at 20 PSI, but I don't know if that limits me to 20 PSI. I guess I have more reading to do.

Car runs fine, still very smooth. I don't really know how to search for this. Haha. I feel like I have much more to learn than I originally anticipated.

 

Take it to English and let them tune it...

 

I have the 42 draft designs panel too, but mine looks way better than most... Too many people have the Gruppe-s panel IMHO, but it looks ok...

 

Would you not think it was already tuned with everything that is already installed? I plan to go to English, but I don't have the time to drive down there on a whim.

Like I said, the car runs really well. I'm just trying to make sure I'm not hurting anything in the mean time.
