Oregon DEQ

Hey guys, I went in to DEQ today and they said I failed because even though all the sensors were supported, it wasn't factory spec. Has anybody else encountered this lately? I passed no problem 2 years ago so I don't know if this is a new thing they're doing or just the tech I happened to get.

Thanks in advance

around february 2011 this stuff started changing

make a quick trip back to english racing and i'm sure they will fix it for you for cheap

essentially the DOT (DEQ, whatever) now has "proper" ready-checks, so if systems that aren't on your car are reporting as ready, the car will fail

ER has had this fix for a while but it sounds like you either didn't get tuned there the first time, or were tuned there before this whole new system came into effect

quick call and quick trip up there and you'll be on your way and passing!

Ahh, ok. Yeah, I had no problems at DEQ in 2012 and haven't had a retune either.

Thanks!

DEQ recently upgraded their computers so if you were tuned before the upgrade then you will fail. I failed back in Feb, took it to English Racing. Arron fixed it within a few minutes. I think it cost around $40.

Well guess I'll be seeing our friends at ER very soon for the DEQ fix.

Actually the change was Nov 2012 at most OR stations and Feb 2013 for all of them and WA. If we tuned it after that date and it wasnt corrected we correct it for free. Since we cant forsee things changing in requirements we do charge a small amount if it was prior to Nov 2012.
