Dyno #'s and trap speeds

Has anyone strapped their car up at PD and then went on to make some passes at the track?? I'm just trying to associate a trap speed I should expect with a hp number I got from the PD MD I wish it was not winter so I could get to the track again

Evofunk put down your same numbers at PD then ran 12.07@113.8, but had a best trap of 114.8. That's why I didn't understand your dyno numbers. Your MD numbers were equal to my Dynojet numbers...the ones on which I ran my 12.26.

I agree. I'm scratch my head at this one. Mabye I'll lay the 113mph smack down I seriously doubt that will happen. I'm guessing 110 max.

Another one of our customers had a run with 12.0 at 127mph.
He had a bogged launch with a 2.2+ 60 foot.
But the point is that his car dyno'd at 400 whp and 340 ftlbs.
Keep in mind that many factors come into play at the track. Including weather, tire pressure and temp, driver technique, traction etc.
I have seen many fast cars with 330 hp on our dyno only come out with 12.'s. They were limited by traction and launch patterns.
Warrtalon from what I here is a very good driver.
That works to his advantage.

But we're only talking trap speed, not ET. ET is all driver, but trap speed is all power. It can be negatively affected by driver, but the driver can't make HP. You can only trap so high with a given WHP. In Petey's case, the expectation would be around 110mph max, but then it wouldn't reconcile with EvoFunk's 114mph traps with the same dyno numbers on the same dyno in relatively the same weather conditions on the same octane.

You forget. This is on a Mustang Dyno. On Buschur's MD, his RS put down 333whp and trapped 124. Give it another 67whp, and I think it can top 127. That would require this dyno to read as low as Buschur's, and it does not. I would think sylvester's car dynos higher than 400 even on the PD dyno if it trapped 127.

Everyone Listen carefully.... The car dyno'd at 400 whp. It trapped 127 mph in the quarter at cecil county drag way.
The dyno ALSO reads just like every other MD dyno out there. Keep in mind we are talking about dynoing turbo cars here. In the colder, denser oxygen , weather turbo cars will dyno higher. DO NOT ONLY RELY ON THE PEAK NUMBERS.
If anyone wants to debate this, my number is in the sig. Thank you

You really believe it reads the same as Buschur's MD? If so, then Petey's car will trap close to 117mph. Anything running 300whp at Buschur is seriously hauling ***. Colder, denser air doesn't randomly give that much more power.

If you guys want to split hairs I guess I should have been more specific then. The average 400awhp dyno on a DYNOJET will not produce 127mph trap speeds is that better?

If you want to play the low reading or as other's put it "more accurate" dyno reading game to a test let's all start saying that 580whp EVO's trap 144mph then.

Randomly..........? OK
We dyno cars here everyday man, I am pretty sure I can make that assumption.
Evo Funks car dynoed in pretty mild weather in comparison to 40 degree weather that day.Correction factors really aren't that accurate when it comes to turbo cars on chassis dyno's. But you will argue with anyone so......

Let me make something clear as well, A customer came into this forum asking us what trap speed he should expect. That is all. Not a pissing contest about accurate dyno's. So we gave a generalization about what WE have seen on OUR dyno'. That is all

Funny - we now talk about how low Buschur's dyno reads

with no sarcasm.

When "They" spoke about Shiv's "MOON" dyno - a little different attitude was present
