sry im a noob but stevoX...what do u mean by more power? more torque? more hp if i added exhaust KIT?

ericxd Jul 4, 2007 12:00 AM

another question for HIDS, i need 9007M moving Xenon Bulbs?

stEVOx Jul 4, 2007 12:16 AM

with the exhaust Q, an exhaust on our car will not give u gains(maybe 1-2hp) but if u are planning to get headers or go turbo (ie power) u need a larger exhaust so u dont bottle neck.
but if u are keeping the engine stock and get a larger(say 2.5") exhaust, u will lose Torque but u may gain hp in the top end of the RPMs

HID bulb size ive been told is 9007

just a quick pointer, before spending money on mods, think _HARD_ of what u want out of ur car then start buying stuff, coz u can save alot of money in the long run.

also welcome eric and thank you for using an appropriate "noob" area :)
(also another quick hint, start off with a SRI, pully and tie bar
ull see what i mean

ericxd Jul 5, 2007 12:00 AM

SRI, pulley and tie bar lol what they do and around how much am i looking at? and thanks ill b here as long as i have the ralliart i picked up today

stEVOx Jul 5, 2007 02:33 AM

Stupid question but i'm looking for the rear Turn signal bulbs. Listed as type WY21W at 21W bulb. Is there another generic name for this or is this another one of those OEM only bulbs... I noticed that Subie's have the same style and they mention 7440 bulbs might work but i don't want to find out the hard way they don't. I'm looking to get some clear corner bulbs or something completely legal like that.. heh...

stEVOx Jul 5, 2007 05:23 PM

^for bulbs what i do is take them off the car and goto local car shop (autobarn) and they find me a matching non OEM one

ericxd Jul 5, 2007 11:09 PM

about telling me to start with SRI tiebar and pulley kit, did u consider that my 04 ralliart was automagic?!?! lol

P.S also will these parts benefit if i WERE TO EVER put in a turbo into the ralliart?
and what does tiebar do?

Thanks stevoX, pls answer all the above LOL

Eric

stEVOx Jul 6, 2007 03:47 AM

^i have an 06 auto, they are the same, but i think minor differences, but as long as u have the 4g69 engine it should fit, just make sure when u order parts from somewhere u specifiy as much as u can for what car it is for

Tie bar is a suspension mod: see here for review, or just search ur own: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ht=tie+bar+rrm
basically strenghtens up the chasis so u can corner harder, trust me it works. do a corner fast(controlled condition ;) ) without it, then install it and do the exact same and u will see

those are the 3 mods i and most others start with, cheap and effective.
im also planning to go turbo,
the tie bar and pulley can remain, but the SRI will be replaced, but a well worth mod until u actually get the turbo(be it months to years) and anyway u should be able to get 60-80% of value for resale on these forums

ericxd Jul 6, 2007 11:02 AM

hmmm stevoX i check the RRm and it says their CAI only comes for MANUAL personally, u prefer SRI or CAI?

stEVOx Jul 6, 2007 04:25 PM

for automatic u want to go SRI, it will give u better low end torque, manual cars dont need as much as the gear ratios are better(5sp VS 4sp) so they can go CAI,
but there are others (i think injen? - see MITVRX's thread on intakes)

ericxd Jul 6, 2007 06:42 PM

so after SRI, low tiebar and pulley kit what do u recommend in terms of performance not looks.

stEVOx Jul 6, 2007 09:10 PM

^it depends what u want out of the car, u gonna have to make a list of goals and budget(always run over anyways), and do alot of reading

u can stay NA or go FI
cams
header
IM
turbo
etc

alot of learning to be had grasshopper

ericxd Jul 7, 2007 12:07 AM

probably not turbo but anything other than the 3 u recommended that can give addition icnrease for torque and hp(i want to get my RA to at least 200hp if possible) no turbot...LOOKS i can do myself...just need performance wise advice!

and Noramlly Aspirated meaning turbo? and whats FI?

k3lv Jul 7, 2007 12:46 AM

NA = naturally Aspirated = No turbo

FI = Forced Induction = Turbo/Supercharger
