Thanks again

cf hood is very tempting; cf trunk is too fragile to handle the gt wing.

Here are some more Seibon Plastic & cf door pic.'s... they were installed when I had my previous useless Cusco cage. Frame-per-frame all four doors weigh 66 pounds less than stock. Still waiting for the door cards.

That's a Cusco bolt-in cage? What is up with the proximity, shape and multiple bends in the cage? Good idea swapping that thing out, looks like it'll cause more damage than good actually.

lub the doors...I want some!

took the wing off

Replaced stock front & rear side windows with acrylic.

Total weight saved is 13.6 pounds.

Actually the Cusco cage isn't bad. The mutliple bends are to go around the factory dash so you don't have to hack the car apart to install it. We did the same thing on our black shop drag car when we custom made our cage. Now that it has no interior in it it's kind of senseless. At the time though with the full interior it was great.

dunno how cheap you can get it, but here is a link to the cusco cage. Pretty good looking as for as fabrication.

great info, that is really not much, I guess the stock glass is pretty light.

So how much does the 12" Spal fan weigh? Did anyone figure this out? ...versus the stock metal frame fan?

medsheikh Dec 30, 2007 12:31 AM

Took out the a/c, abs, electric window mechanisms and related parts... added c/f door cards and tunnel trays. Car now weighs 2,777.8 pounds (7% fuel in tank).

Will post exact weight of each soon.

evo_4U2NV Jan 22, 2008 06:14 AM

you guys are crazy taking out air bags and stuff you have fun with that.

wartownracer Jan 29, 2008 05:02 PM

woooah this is nuts....i wish i could get my car to weight 3000 pounds...when you guys are talking about wiring harness, what are the harnesses for? I mean who makes them and how much weight do they save...right now i think i have saved only about 80 pounds...i have the buschur tbe and there mini battery. I also stripped the trunk. Im gonna order sparco corsa seats and a sparco steering wheel that should bump my total weight savings up to around 130 do you guys agree?

5-6 gal fuel cell and remove the stock tank. That should put you where you need to be.

Setup the GT Wing to go through the CF Trunk and on to the cage and that will take care of your issue of being too fragile.

get a set of magnesium wheels like the Volk TE37 MAG's. Retarded weight savings.
