Dynos are for tuning not minute comparing. Track times on the other hand are very valid given similiar conditions. We'll see what she does.

funny...here i actually called buschur and they told me to wait for something special....and now i here this

SuperchargedGTZ Oct 8, 2006 03:06 PM

i think a response for Buschur would be good just about now....

I'm sure this thread will get deleted. I'm really supprised the alignment thread i quoted didn't get deleted when all this fuss about his 20g-9-lt started going around. I would like to know tho. Did the power come from the alignment or from the turbo.. Because david has made it seem like they both made the power.. It ither came from one or another. He ither wants people to come get their evo's laser aligned or buy this new 20g.. not both

I guess we'll have to wait and see what this "new" turbo does. Personally, I don't think it will make any more power without race gas/meth with the boost turned way up. To me that wouldn't really be worth it. But if it can make considerable more power on 92oct then I'll be all over it.

Did that original thread get deleted? I haven't seen it around.

all 20G are piece of **** turbo. don't waste your money. get an IX turbo instead or save your money for a real upgrade. don't believe all the hype on here. if you search in the private sale section you will see how many 20G are forsale right now. {thumbup}

you go from a car that spooled to 20psi before 3k to a car that spools to 20psi at 3.5k. that's not considerable?

uhm... last i checked the dyno is a scientific device... of course it's used for minute comparing.

you know what's flawed? the methodology of using dynos in this industry. it's a ****in' embarassment to science. when was the last time you saw averaging of dyno runs? you know what you do in a lab when you make measurements? you take about 10 and you plug it into excel to =average and =stdev.

somehow in this day and age in this industry all you have to do is throw the ***** on and turn the rollers one revolution and you've "discovered" that you have umpteenbillion horsepower technically capable of 9 second quarter mile runs and flying off the local race track cuz it can't turn due to a faulty alignment.

Spooldyou Oct 9, 2006 03:09 AM

you know a 50 trim spools about 500-800 rpm later then stock ( depending on kit ) and still makes 500 Whp right ?

i think the major factor in a lot of people's interest in this kit is that the hype says it can make numbers somewhat close to a 50 trim and yet be less than half the cost of the 50 trim.

i think the 500~800 rpm later-than-stock spool is kind of an optimistic view, and only a handful of people have hit close to 500whp running pump and meth...although the average numbers for a 50 trim on meth/pump are pretty good.

nvr2fast Oct 9, 2006 05:34 AM

Hum... a stock IX turbo versus the current 20g-5 turbo on REGULAR gas... we're looking at 20-30whp difference tuned, and 500rpm slower spool than the stock IX turbo...?

So assumign the new 20g-LT comes out, I dont think it will be able to make much more than that on REGULAR gas, but perhaps has more potential with race gas... as the new 20g-LT won't be completely different... and 500rpm more spool time than the 20g-5... which means 1k rpm spool lag compared to stock IX turbo. So I guess you'd really only want it for race gas.

But feel free to correct me.

And you are bringing up Sigma and Stan. deviation for what purpose

I will be getting one the first day they are avaible and will be doing my own test. i will get before and after numbers on the same dyno and try to do the same week if possible. My car has the normal mods 3"TBE intake LICP FMIC UICP cams and EMS so i can tune it. The only change will be the turbo, outlet, and injectors mine are maxxed on the 04 9.8 stock outlet at 22psi and pump gas.

Wow, a couple of you guys need to calm down and stop hating because your cars are slow and the combinations you are running suck.

What comment exactly would you like me to make? The RS made 415 one day and the next time it went on the dyno it made 451. Between the two times it was dyno'd the change I made was the alignment.

For the few clowns that want to keep bringing up the fact that I want to make money aligning cars you are dead wrong. I posted the results that I saw, if you don't like them PLEASE by all means, keep doing things the way you are. You being slow just makes it easier for me to look fast. It is rediculous the ridicule I take on this site sometimes.

The turbo will hopefully be released this month. My car ran 10.8 at 128 with an early prototype. The final version is here on my desk. Since my car ran 9's in full street trim I'm not too sure I am going to go back to it or not, it is NOT for sale though.

Curt Brown just ran 10.5 at 128 mph on his first pass with the turbo. His second run was ruined from spinning too hard then missing 2nd gear. He is going to go back and try again.
