New tint went on the car today..old stuff was garbage......rexpeed VG in the trunk waiting to go on, spent last night detailing/waxing the door jambs and trunk area.....
next up - a bit of restoration on the weatherstripping to bring back the black.... |
Went WOT finally, new clutch is broken in so I ran thru the gears a few times.

Came out of work at lunch, looked like the evo lost the war with a flock of birds, spent the hour cleaning up the sh-t.

Practiced my tinting skills with the left over roll I had. Did 35% on the headlights, side markers, and tail lights, then the headlights of 2 gti's and a 350z. Came out nice.

Ashtray wideband mount

Sticking with a stock appearing interior, I decided to install my Innovate LC-1 wideband in the ashtray, completely out of sight when not needed. I have seen gauges mounted on top of the ashtray before, not inside, and I thought this was a pretty clever little spot.
Some might think that this is a bad location as it is not in my direct line of sight while driving. I have been tuning my DSM for a few years now and a wideband is not something I'm looking at all the time. I usually only look at it when I doing a pull just to verify that it still matches my log. When I need to do that I'll just pop open the ash tray and take a glance. I'm very happy with the way it turned it. Attachment 188084 The stock ashtray Attachment 188085 I only cut out the hump in the ashtray and the light under it. Attachment 188086 The aluminum bracket I made up to hold the gauge. Attachment 188089 What it looks like from the underside. Attachment 188088 Stealth mode! I started a thread on this here if anyone is interested: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/in...l#post10151854 |

I repainted my wheels (well so far two of them). The previous owner had painted them black but there where lots of runs and imperfections. I also painted the Mitsubishi symbol in the center caps red and added a white Enkei sticker.

New plugs (Laser Iridiums) after 70k on the originals. Oil change from M1 to Rotella T6 with a new OEM filter. One thing I don't get? 1G of T6 is 3.9L or thereabouts. I poured it all in, but got a second expecting to need to top it off. After the one jug, the oil level is right above the top notch so I think I'm good but was just expecting to need more.

I installed my vortex generator,3k yellow foglights, power washed the engine. Shes a beauty:)

fought off the temptation to order a toxicfab manifold
