I did like the Works as well.

Thank you for answering that thoroughly. Did your RA have the short throw in for all those miles? That's a lot of shifts on one shifter! That's one for the garage wall when she bites the dust.

In bold, I just wanted to make a point for anyone reading this that you DID NOT have a short throw in your Evo, correct? And it took all that beating, and did great with the stocker!

And the fact that you race everyone of your cars puts you just a few levels below the great Chuck Norris:karate:

 Sig'd that last line.

Short throw is more driver preference over time saver / speed.

Yeah, RA is my current winter car. It's had that shifter for most of its life.

I had a modified OE shifter in my 8. Lowered the location of the shifter ball about .75in and ran a Greddy heavy knob. I had the under hood and base bushings as well with ACT HDSS then 6puck clutches.

RA has:
SS clutch line; clutch restrictor deleted
Clutchmasters Stage 1 clutch installed at 90,000 miles
Speedsource brass shifter base bushings and brass cable bushings
Authority short shifter w/Greddy counterweight knob

This probably a newbie question but how can you make the Works 5 speed clutch kit work on a 6 speed car?

No
