Ok so i got some info from a guy that has a 300whp lancer with a LSD and all of the F5M42 transmissions are the same it seems like! So if anyone has a LSD from a lancer 02-06 for sale let me know iv been looking for one for over 2 years now! If not there's a website from australia that sells both the OEM mitsubishi lancer/mirage LSD 1 way and Ralliart 1.5 way for 750-900$

Ok so i ended up buying a Kaaz 1.5 Way DBM2050 Super Q LSD for 1050$ USD and the unit is bolt on no problem! Keep in mind if you buy an after market LSD you NEED to recheck the Diff to Case preload to verify the shim thickness you need. I ended up having to sand down the OEM 1.04mm shim to 0.92mm for the required preload because the 0.92mm shim from mitsubishi is B/O but it worked out just fine! I will keep updates on the Kaaz LSD for a review. Since it's a clutch type LSD be aware that there's going to be abnormal noises on low speed turns and accell and that's normal. Let me know if anyone goes for it or if you need more info on the part numbers for bearings and stuff.

Sorry for reviving this old thread. marcouxa1 how did the kaaz work out? Want to pull the trigger on the kaaz just hoping for some feedback first.

4G94 and F5M42 Trans upgrades and questions

The time has come to give the car some attention. The clutch//flywheel needs replacement and the transmission needs a rebuild.Going to do bearings and synchros but are there any good/high quality ones to pick from ? The same kits keep pulling up and not many choices to go with either. Does any one make carbon synchros for the F5M42 like they do for the EVO's ? :/ Im planning on building this transmission up. A Kaaz LSD is to be installed during the trans rebuild but need help finding reputable kits, anyone have any idea's ? Starting with the drive train and moving over to the engine at a later time. Coil overs to be installed to replace the worn out original factory parts.

Parts list so far
Fidanza 161111 - Aluminum Flywheel
Will 4G63 Flywheel bolts work for the 4G94 ? ARP Kit:107-2801
ACT MB8HDSS - Heavy Duty Street Single Disc Clutch Kit
Not sure if they make ARP bolt for the pressure plate
F5M42 5 Speed Transmission Bearing Kit with Synchro Rings, BK497AWS
- allstategear.com <-- No inventory " Promp refund"
-Transmissionpartsdistributors.com <--- Dont waste your time, Sent me a box of junk.
- www.vividracing.com <--- Has the kit but uses 3rd party parts ( Great customer service though :) )
There are NO Carbon kits headed our direction for the F5M42, What I was told from Synchrotech.com ( Shiiieeet ... )
KAAZ - DBM2050 - Lancer CK4A – Mirage CJ4A / CK4A – Hyundai Tiburon 95-01 (1.8L)- 01+ (2.0L Front 1.5 Way "Super Q"
Megan Racing MR-CDK-ML02-EZII EZII - Mitsubishi Lancer 02-06

This Forum, seems dead but ill put up what I've discovered.

Thanks, Guys

There no reputable F5M42 kits out there, They all use 3rd party syncro's and bearing Etc. I have compiled a list of transmission parts to build you own with OEM Mitsubishi F5M42 rebuild kit. This list is mainly syncros and bearings nothing too fancy. Let me know if there are any errors in my list.

I love the kaaz! only thing is i started with 100% lock on the unit and ended up switching around the clutches inside to go to the highest % lock and its only 60%. even at 60% lock there's a huge difference and at least i dont get shatter from the 100% lock setup i used to run.
