Off topic, but those first two EVO's on this thread are beautiful. Clean as H E double hockey stick.

I just picked up a used AP roll bar. Does the main hoop diagonal bar interfere with the passenger seat - i.e. does the seat have be moved forward because of it? If so, can a passenger still sit in it comfortably?

AP makes a roll bar where the diagonal is a bolt in part. AP says the bolt in part is an option. I'm still trying to find out if it is SCCA legal.

Youll find when you install the RB, it mounts quite far into the rear seating area so that
both front seats are unaffected. Youll be able to move both front seats fore & aft as well as rake the back rest a bit rearward (ive got the bolt-in diagonal)

Not sure about the SCCA legality thing

Just got some of the 1/4 plates fabbed up by a Metal Stamping shop. Going to have to install these before my next event.

Any tips before installing the 1/4" plates?

^^^John

Do you have a sunroof & if not are you using the shorter sunroof model RB?

And, Do you still have the headliner?

I don't have a sun roof, I have an aluminum roof. I still have the roof liner in. I was wondering about that.

My experience was this:
I used 3/16" plate (1/4" plate is overkill IMO not to mention its going to be tight)
I painted the plates prior to install
Im using the non sunroof model RB
Still have roof liner

Putting the plates in was tough. I actually used a floor jack to lift the RB just enough to slip the plates in to mark the hole locations (used padding below jack & at the RB x-bar)
Removed the plates & drilled the holes. Re-installed the plates & re-bolted

With the plates in the upper hoop is super tight into the roof liner!!!!

Seems to me the best install would be less the roof liner or using the sunroof model RB which is shorter in height

^^^Really liking that shot{thumbup}

If the pic was sharper, showing off the fender creases, would have been even better
