Thx. I was able to get another 110 miles in today. So 250 to go before we can tune. Shooting for Fri!

Set the boost to 15 psi and do some well-spaced 3rd gear pulls. That will seat the rings as good as anything else.

Coming along nicely

Are you running the W400 on E85?

Kidloco51 Feb 12, 2012 04:47 PM

I just swapped in a walbro 400 this Friday (had a dw 300). I was running out of fuel above 27 psi before now I have plenty. I think the 400 is the way to go for a single pump IMO.

Oh and my buddy hit 601 with Wally 400 on his 2g GSX so again I'd suspect you'll be fine :)

We have very similiar goals in mind, my friend. I have appreciated seeing the entire process come along very nicely. With the aboved votes for the Walbro 400-lph, I believe that I will purchase one of these this week as I, too, have the DW300 w/retire kit sitting in my garage. I think the FIC 1450s I currently have BNIB might be too small to support breaking the 600whp mark. Question: What is the Kenne Bell 40amp BAP? Thanks.

Hmm I think I'll stay out of boost for these first 500 miles {thumbup}

Boost a pump. Which I am not sure I'll even need just yet

you really should do some light psi pulls. its the only way those rings will seat nicely!!

Well, I have hit a few psi accidently. Lol. I take it up a little though :)

tscompusa Feb 12, 2012 08:04 PM

you can break it in hard or easy.. id ask map what to do.. it depends on the clearances they used for ptw, etc.

getsideways Feb 12, 2012 08:49 PM

Im curious to know how well they hold up on E85 as a lot of people are claiming they arent Ethanol safe, I agree that for a single pump they seem to be the answer,,, That is unless the rumor is true that E85 eats them.

I sure hope the fic 1450s will crack 600..

tscompusa Feb 12, 2012 09:51 PM

1450 can do way over 600 on e85 if the fuel pump is there. they should be able to do 650 or so.

Claim and rumor is all there is right now. The Walbro 255 is not certified for ethanol, and its been holding up fine.

Based on the fuel flow tests I've seen, the Walbro 400 can easily support 600 whp with the proper voltage (14+ V) and a larger diameter fuel supply line (-6 AN).

I am up to 350 miles on motor. Man I really wanted to tune tomorrow but roads are wet, COP is on back order and prob should but more miles in it. Suspense is killing me though!

CurseDSM Feb 13, 2012 06:50 PM

I think it would be time for you to start taking back roads and get yourself lost with no GPS and find your way home after all that. Theres your 350 miles {thumbup}
