thanks for the response Erik! {thumbup}

let me know...

I installed my MIL.SPEC throttle body last week.

I didn't even port match the intake manifold, and I definitely feel a nice difference, but most importantly, throttle response is greatly improved! :thumbup:

Now, I can't wait to see the difference with a port matched manifold!

Will do!
Bump for a quality product, and a nice guy!

alright, got this bad boy on yesterday, and I can confirm fitment w/ a 70mm Works DP! Its ever so slightly louder, but just adds to the ever so sexy tone of the jun bl exhaust! I have driven bout 40 miles and no cell! I let it idle in my garage for a few mins. w/ the door closed and no icky smell either!

{thumbup} to Erik and Abby @ Mil.Spec for not only awesome quality products, but service as well!

Thanks again Erik

I'll be in touch... ;)

I've got about 250 miles on my MIL.SPEC HFC, and no CELs at all... no mechanical O2 fix used.

MIL.SPEC GUIDELINES FOR PURCHASING A TB

As of late, we’ve been receiving some throttle bodies in extremely poor condition. That puts us as a company in an awkward position, as we’re left with a throttle body sent in as a core that’s barely re-sellable. So, we have instituted these guidelines for people to judge the quality of their own throttle bodies before they send them in. This way, no one is surprised…either MIL.SPEC or one of our customers.

WHEN YOU SEND IN A TB, IT WILL RECEIVE ONE OF THREE GRADES: A, B or C

GRADE A
A throttle body in good to great condition. Very minor or no visible signs of oxidation . TB typical of someone who lives on the west coast or garages their car regularly.

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z...t/GradeATB.jpg

GRADE B

Average condition throttle body. Mild to moderate oxidation. Typical east coast throttle body or where they salt the roads in winter.

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z...t/GradeBTB.jpg

GRADE C-GHETTO STYLE

Severely oxidized thottle body or a TB that has a WACKED GOLD BALLER paint job like this one (yes, someone actually sent us this throttle body). If you send us this throttle body as a core replacement, you WILL NOT receive a refund. Repeat…GHETTO throttle body, no core refund. Period. If you send us a throttle body like this to port, expect to receive back THE SAME throttle body with a turnaround time of approximately 2 weeks.

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z...t/GhettoTB.jpg

DAMAGED TB's

If you send us a damaged throttle body and fail to mention its condition, you WILL NOT receive your core deposit. If you send us a damaged TB to port, expect to receive back THE SAME throttle body with a turnaround time of approximately 2 weeks. Dents/grooves/etc. will not come out even after being machined. We will not re-sell damaged parts.

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z.../DamagedTB.jpg

PLEASE NOTE: When you send in throttle bodies, YOU MUST let us know what condition your TB is in. It’s either going to be Grade A, Grade B or Grade C. If there is some type of uicp pipe damage that you see on your trottle body upon removal, expect to get your original back plus the process will take a bit longer. If you let MIL.SPEC know of things ahead of time, we can work something out. If you do have a damaged throttle body, don’t be to worried. The one on Aby’s car is slightly buggered up and he makes power just fine.

MIL.SPEC DISCLAIMER
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO KEEP YOUR CORE DEPOSIT IF YOU SEND US A DAMAGED TB, A TB IN POOR CONDITION OR A TB WITH DAMAGED HARDWARE THAT IS NOT REPAIRABLE OR USABLE. IF YOU HAVE A CONCERN ABOUT THE QUALITY OF PARTS YOU’RE SENDING, PLEASE, FEEL FREE TO ASK. WE WANT THIS TO WORK OUT WELL FOR EVERYONE!

Thank you, and have a nice day :beer: :beer: :usflag:

G'day Eric,

I've been watching your 100 cell cats for a while & there seems to be many happy campers out there.

I'm in the market for a good metal cat 100 cell, can you sell just a cat body without the pipe & flanges mate? I maybe getting a D C Sports downpipe & would look at getting it welded straight into the downpipe as an option. The other option if the D C Sports DP falls through is a change of fabrication if possible. Can you build the cat directly behind the flange that joins to the downpipe instead of in the middle, as our (Aussie) Evo IX's require this layout due to a short O2 sensor lead :crap: ?

Thanks very much for your time Eric.

Cheers Steve:beer:

Since we don't do the fabrication in house, we don't have the luxury of changing things like that.

However, I can certainly sell you a 100 cell universal cat which you can weld in :)

PM'd {thumbup}

Greetings Erik!! Quick question for you, what's the status on an Evo X 100 cell cat? I'm hoping I haven't missed anything announced...

nothere Jul 6, 2008 07:49 AM

Erik,

got the cat on yesterday, thanks.

Typically I drive around without a cat and run the car at 15.5 or so during cruise/idle.

Do you know if I will hurt the cat running that lean?

Sorry, was on vacation.

I would pay more attention to EGT's than AFR. I do know if you're dumping raw fuel into the exhaust with anti-lag or something similar that it can damage the core.

Evo X cat and throttlebody status?...

^ +1! Erik, any information is better than none...
