are there different versions of the xbox? other than the PAL and NTSC, you said its v1.6?

there are different versions of the xbox - there is JAP, PAL and NTSC. Each can play uniquely coded dvd's for that region. Aside from that, you can have xbox versions 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.6.

1.6 is the most recent. If you are looking to buy a broken xbox for parts, you need to know what version the xbox is you are buying as well as the one you are trying to repair. the cd/dvd can be swapped, but things like the power supply may be specific to unqiue versions.
