This is the Mitsubishi lightweight aluminum front strut brace designed for the Evo VIII. It looks great under the hood (really sets off the color of the valve cover) and is much lighter than the heavy and blah-looking steel stock brace. It will set you back about $420 at a dealer. Man this is my favorite strut brace for the evo, I'm not much for bling, ask anyone who knows me but this piece really is a thing of beauty under the hood. BUMP

 

Answers to above questions:

I'm in Northern Virginia near D.C.

It is around half the weight of the stocker. I just used my wife's digital kitchen scale to weigh the stocker and this one. The stocker is 7 lbs. 4-1/2 oz. This one is 3 lbs. 10 oz. So, you save about 3-1/2 pounds off the end of the car that needs lightening the most. That's not huge, but every little bit counts.

As mitsuorder said, this thing looks great under the hood because of the color coordination with the valvecover.

This is really more of a bling mod than a weight saver, but it is a very blingy part that happens to look OEM.

 

Wow! My engine bay looked great with those mods. If I have the extra cash I might ****** this up and put it back where it belongs. Saving money for light weight wheels though.
