"New Year's Evo": Phil's JDM Evo IV
"New Year's Evo": Phil's JDM Evo IV
I've alluded to this purchase in a couple of other threads, but I thought it was time for a build thread... now right off the top this is nothing like a performance build like some of the awesome rigs on this forum... it might even be a misnomer to call it a build thread... whatever:
I have lusted after many of the Evo's, like lots of you, for years. Really liked the 4's and later. Here in Canada we got none till the Evolution X, so that just made them even more appealing.
I've imported two JDM pajeros in the last 6 years, and was well versed with the ins and outs of owning a right hand drive JDM, so once the CN9A was eligible for import under our fifteen year rule, I started my search. I wanted a 96 or early 97 GSR with low mileage if possible, and it had to be icelle blue...
It took a few months, but here's what my importer found me, in November of 2011:
(These pics were from Japan)

61ooo kms, GSR with sunroof, good condition, one owner. I bid on it (successfully), had it shipped to Vancouver, and finally picked it up in Edmonton on New Years' Eve.
I will update as I get a chance with what I have done up to this point and moving forward...
