What hp/ tq have you guys pushed the stock engine to?
Many of my customers are pushing well over 400 hp on the evo 9 turbo on stock internals, and 380-390 on the evo 8 turbo with my tunes, stock internals can handle about 430-450tq at the wheels before they start snapping rods, let me know if you want me to help u with tuning once you're done

So what is the difference between the evo 8 & 9 throttle body?

And where would the sending unit for aftermarket boost gauge be mounted?.....before intercooler, after?

Evo 8-9 throttle bodys are the same as far as i know, the aftermarket sending unit is tee'd off of the vacuum-boost signal right off the intake manifold.

This is honestly one of my favorite builds on this site.

I LOVE budget builds with a passion. There's not much better than a cheap, light, reliable setup.

I may do something like this build next summer. Will it be AWD?

Its going good. Just buying parts as i find deals. When i get back to the computer I'll update my parts list.
I'm in the process of rebuilding the head.
Still need the bottom end and trans from a 3G Eclipse.
I really can't wait to get this thing done but i just bought a house so I'm taking it easy on the spending.

Good news is i found EVO 4-6 intercooler and piping so it'll bolt right up.

No plans for AWD. Too much work for me.
Thank you guys for the support.

The Mirage as it sits today. :Mitsubishi3:

Needs a paint job, but that's about it for the outside. Just a few more little things...

idk how far in this build you are but if your using an evo ecu make sure you change out to an evo knock sensor or your car will never hit 5 pounds. My friend put a optima motor in his evo the entire 2.4 running and he could def help you out with small stuff. also im pretty positive your going to need a 3g eclipse transmission (good luck) and also make a custom motor mount. Honestly Ide just use the entire 2.4 motor it drops right in with a stock evo turbo kit. Just gotta change the passanger side front cover and mount to evo 8. Also oil pan WILL need to be modified to clear evo downpipe. also your going to have issues with your starter clearance. Just giving you some heads up

Yes. I'm using evo 8 knock sensor, 3g eclipse trans with custom shafts, the evo 4-6 motor mount bolts on and levels the engine out, and evo 8 oil pan bolts on and takes care of the clearance issue, and last but not least, I'm using a spacer to make the turbo clear the starter. Thanks though.

You make me want to start a build thread on here now. I was so reluctant to because I was afraid it was going to be shunned apon. Any progress lately?
Oh and this is mirage6evo from MPF.

Yeah. I figured i may get some advice over here. Its not been too bad.

I've just been cleaning parts.
I've been sorting out the engine harness. Got it about 95% labeled to make things easier.
I pulled some Hyundai coil packs and a water pipe yesterday.

We're about to close on a new house so all of my extra money is going into savings right now. After we get settled I'll start back looking for parts. Plus I'll have a big garage to work in then.
