But for right now I just have to hope that preloading this wga will help me spool faster them 5k my buddy's hTa 3062 spools faster lol

I hope megatron stays alive with you I would like to see that bad boy go
You do understand that if you go with the 6262 that you will have to change a lot of your current set up, right?

Exhaust Manifold
O2 Housing
...and several other things.

You also have to understand that Tom's car has a great intake manifold and GSC S3 cams (and more than likely replace your S2s).

I thought I wanted (needed) 600whp when I had the EF4 and I have to say that 500whp+ is more than enough and with my 2.4L, the torque is outstanding with my FP Red.

I do think that once you get the pre-load issue straighted out that you will notice a world of a difference, in a good way.

I would deff agree with you 100% I did plan on the things I would need to change if I went 6262 and I'm sure on the black I would need s3s and quite a bit extra to make 650+ and yea I think if actually wait to fix my preload issues I would pry be happy with the 401 and after my 02dump 450ish I think because the spool is so slow my car feels slower now then it used to it doesn't really push you back the only reason I know it's fast is because of how fast I climb in mph lol and the fact that I pulled on a 450 hp evo 9 we were both very confused on how he even spooled before me and I gave him the jump but a wins a win lol so I think the jump again to 500 I'll be very happy I can't wait it's been my dream to build an evo and Im finaly living it out

And thank you again for walking me through and exapaining so much to me in my newb days lol and recomending map turbos I do love that thing it sounds so mean an does make the power

We have all been newbies at one point or another, my friend. I know I had my "teacher" when I started this journey in late 2004. I keep this in mind when I see/read threads about topics that have been discussed over and over and do my best to provide accurate information and throw the flag when someone is about to walk the wrong path unaware.

I am not trying to dissuade you from the 6262 as it can make 650whp easier than the FP Black as it is a larger turbo. I just believe in doing things right the first time and if you love the stock frame turbo options, stick with it. You have to remember that torque is what makes a ride fun but depending on how you plan to use your EVO, top end might be what you are after.

The reason why you pulled on the EVO IX is because the EF3 is a larger turbo and has more top end than the stock IX turbo (poor spool or not).

OK. It may have been the HTA 3076 which is a pretty good turbo. I used to eye it a lot when I first started my EVO journey. In my opinion, it is not effective given the stock frame options that can flow just as much in the non-T3 variant meaning that the non-T3 variants will nearly always spool quicker.

Yea thinking so he said he was at full spool at around 4600 and just seemed like once my turbo hit it just kept going lol But who knows I think I'm about to see what this ef3 can do going to e85 o do you think I should put the extra 5lb spring in the wg right now it's just the 17lbs that comes with the turbosmart wg

It all depends on how much boost you plan to be tuned on while keeping in my the lowest boost pressure assuming you are going to map switch. I was tuned on 32PSI with E85 and 24PSI on 91-octane so it was best for me to keep the normal Turbosmart spring for my set up.
