girl's ww evo 8 build

I've come to the decision to start a journal of the build process of my evo up to this point and to keep updating it as I go. Any comments or questions are always welcome.

Picked the car up in April 2011.
From the pier straight to the car wash.

At this point i was having some slop in the timing belt. So on with a gates kevlar, new tensioner, water pump, and adjustable cam gears.

When I purchased the car i knew about some minor tranny issues so at this point i decided to do to a new tranny. So in with a shep trans.

While doing the trans i was informed of a shot driveshaft. All the U joints had tons of slop. So I picked a DSS 2 piece.

Then came some new brakes and titanium lugs. I changed the red to blue to color consistent throughout the whole car.

With many complications and crap information from chasebays, I was able to get my new radiator in. Also tucked the wires to underneath the intake mani as well as cleaned up some of the other engine bay wiring. I had my valve cover powder coated but the color didn't turn out the way i liked so i added some black chrome paint to the top of it. Also had my rear coolant inlet as well as thermostat housing done after welding on the AN fittings for the lines.

Looks great. How hard is it to swap the exhaust manifold without taking the turbo out?

Looks very nice! It's nice to see another girl building a car on her own. Good luck with it!

Actually it was a pain in the ***. I had to replace the studs on the turbo anyways so re-installing was a lot easier. Thanks for all of the kind words!

I know the old owner and have driven the car. While I like most of the changes I gotta ask why in the name of God would you change out revolver cams for HKS cams?

After it was all said and done the rad came out great but after all the headache with it and the headache with my boyfriends car and dealing with chase bays. Ild never recommend it. Im sure alot of you have seen the thread on them already but this was before all of that. But it turned out good after a little extra work. Ill post pictures up tonight of just the radiator.

That is one hell of jump down in cams from the revolvers that were in it.
