2.3L Engine built

Hey!

Actually, building a engine wasn't in my plans at all, but had looked a little around and came across a complete longblock, never opened and with 50,000miles on it, and just couldn't resist buying it.
Anyways, I got it home and realised that I don't even have a garage or workshop, no prop wifey suggested just to put it in the living room, so here we go..

Just got it on the engine stand, ready for disassembly

head of, couldn't wait to see if it matches sellers description

main bearings

so, engine gutted and ready for blasting and powdercoating

and it came out mint!

Got this badass jmfab torqueplate.. Nice piece of machinework

Bought me some ARP L19's

bought a set of wiseco 1400hd... buuut, guess thing got a little too quick and i forgot to order the stroker ones. thankfully MAP got the most awesome service and i'm getting them returned and send the right ones

arp main and cam sprocket bolts

I got bored one day and figured it would be nice with a tool/bolt box to just sit on the VC bolts when engine is installed.. So i made one up in stainless

Performance wise i'm shooting at 6-700hp,
I will try keep this updated as much as i can.

Interested to see the progress on this engine build. 600-700 hp on a 2.3L is a tall order.

Remember to keep foreign contaminants/materials low.

nice. from other threads, the 2.3 seems like a monster engine.

Are you building the engine in your dining room? wow my wife would kill me if I did that. haha good work!

Haha, actually her own idea (don't think she knew what she said yes too lol)

It is a high number yes, but it shouldn't be that hard to hit. From everyone I've consultated by building a engine running those numbers, the 2.3l was the way to go in a street car..

You can't hardly find a less contaminated area than this, compared to the average garage/workshop.
