Got to the shop early this morning and had some engine building fun. I work for Toyota so besides building Their engines at work and the engines I've done at school, I've never really built a performance built engine. I was nervous but renting a space with a friend that's a machinist for a living helped me out.
Started out with installing the wrist pin clips on the Pistons, one at a time and then fitting the pin in with some oil. Once each Piston had a clip in it, moved onto the hard part. Once the pin and rod were attached to the piston installing the second was a *****. After a few mis attempts and clips flying everywhere, I found the good method to installing them. Fingers bruised and numb but I got the job done.
After that was all said and done and clips all secure, moved onto filing the rings which I had also never done before. Luckily most of mine were close enough that they didn't need much work.
Once all the rings were filed I ran to advanced to buy a ring compressor, confused all the employees there since they're so knowledgeable. Tapped the Pistons into their bores and forgot the squirters would be in the way. After some gentle convincing, everything fit right and was snugged down.
Everything's in and cleaned up now besides torquing the rod bolts, Wasn't able to find the right specs so I just snugged them for now until I confirm proper torque. Parts ordered to bolt the head on and moving along from there. The weather also seems to be making a break here so now I'm even more anxious to drive this thing. Thanks for looking.

Been slacking pretty hard on updates lately. Few things have come together, bottom end is together and torqued. Oil pump is on, and a
few of the pulleys. Head should be done this weekend and mounting that as soon as possible. Also have a large list of Oem stuff on order from Mitsu that I should be seeing sometime this week.

Been terrible keeping up on this, parts have been either delayed or back ordered this entire build for weeks at a time. Lost interest for a while, but everything's falling into place now. Clutch is on the way and the engine should be ready to drop in next week. First start in about a month for the dyno. Crunch time!
