New to Evos 2003 VIII.
Hey guys and gals. Always had a thing for evos and finally ended picking one up a little under two weeks ago.
car is a 2003 evo 8 apex silver with 95,xxx miles.
has Kelford 272s, bigger IC, fuel pump, injectors,
AEM intake and Fujitsubo exhaust. Tuned at RRE.
Pretty basic, although I plan on swapping my stock cams back on. Lope is not for me
Engine bay was a bit dusty, but it cleaned up nicely. Ordering an evo 7 VC and new spark cover/timing cover to help clean up the bay a bit more.
installed a Doluck style front lip, although I kinda regret not having ordered a carbon fiber one after seeing this one on. Might just go ahead and order one an sell this one.
Also picked up a tall wing and spare trunk, that lancer wing was killing me.
I don't have any better pictures but just yesterday I had the windows tinted. Went with something light as to not attract any extra attention with a car that already screams "look at me!" Did a 50 percent ceramic tint all around
I don't really have any crazy plans for the car. Just doing some maintenance. Plan to do the diff, t case, trans and a radiator flush this coming week. After that i'm doing a timing belt job, the last timing belt job was at 65k miles but that was close to 5 years ago so I'd rather change it and the other components for peace of mind.
Eventually want to do a few track days and autoX but I mostly want to keep the power level and mods low for some reliability.
next mods > jdm lights, rear bumper and some rpf1's because i'm basic.

Nice purchase; that's a pretty clean car! I forgot how much I hate the VIII tails, though. That was one appearance mod I was happy to do on mine! You won't be regretting your choice of front lip once you scrape it on something as carbon fiber is not nearly as forgiving. I see camber plates but you didn't mention any suspension stuff. Is it sitting on coilovers or just lowering springs? Also, who doesn't like a little cam lope? Again, congrats on the purchase and welcome to the Evo world.

Forgot to mention that! The car is sitting on Ohlins
i'll agree with you on the lope, but unfortunately California has pretty crappy car laws and the loud lope is definite giveaway

right now the car makes 340 on pump and 400 on e85
on a separate note, i'm not sure if it's because i'm on mobile but I had to respond with a separate post every time. Sorry about the extra spam

Forgot I had a SpoolinUp COP kit from a car I sold a while ago.
installed, I want to say my idle is smoother but honestly might just be a placebo effect
either way the car seems to be running fine so i'm just going to keep them on there. Went ahead and tossed the cover back on, looks factory again.
in other news. I need to replace my VC gasket asap. Looks a bit grimey around there

Got bored and decided to try my hand at painting the e8 tails to look like the evo 7.
Attachment 324514
unfortunately the lower right section of the drivers taillight came out just a tad lighter. Not too noticeable in person, so i'll deal. Got them clear coated. I plan to pick up some real evo 7 tails eventually but for now these will do
I actually am looking to get another set of 8s to paint differently as well. Thinking of opening it up and painting the inside red and leaving the blinker and reverse sections white.
Attachment 324515
waiting for these to cure and i'll toss em on. Spent a total of 33 dollars on this mod. Figured I can always restore them back to the factory look if i get bored or they fade

haha nope, not a typo. Previous owner had the car in a barn storage and never drove it. He had over 20 cars, this wasn’t didn’t get much time.
