Throttle body(HELP)

Omfg can someone please acknowledge me. I have a 2013 Lancer Es. I heard you and watched videos of people putting bigger throttle bodies on there Lancer. I wanted to know if you could put the Eclispe GT TB on my car. I believe it’s a 65 Mm measurement. I heard it’ll fit I just need longer hoses to hook on the nipples for there a little different. I believe the ES has a 50Mm measurement. I have the part ordered (fairly cheap) so I wanted to give it a shop but wanted to ask and see what y’all think of this. Thank you

Are you expecting a big power gain out of this? Have you upgraded your air filter already (I think you gain more from this since the filter is a bigger restriction)? For turbo cars, bigger TB helps to reduce the energy loss from smaller TB, but for NA engines, I don't expect much gain since the pressure difference between smaller and bigger TB isn't much at all.

Yeah I’ve upgraded to a cold air intake. Have headers on it. High flow full exhaust. So now I heard of the TB to upgrade it to bigger one so I wanted to try that. I saw a guy on another forum do it to his Es and said his throttle response increased a lot. But he didn’t do a GT Tb. He did a 4g96 one. So I was just wondering if the GT Tb will work.

In theory, with larger TB, the amount of air would increase as butterfly valve opens, so yes, throttle response will be increased. But I expect the peak power and power curve to be minimal at WOT.

Oh okay, yeah I understand it won’t be much of a difference.i just wanted my throttle response to be better and help a little for acceleration. I’m new to fixing up these types of cars so that’s why I’m asking a lot of questions. That’s also why I stuck to the easy stuff first like air flow. I know it’ll never be as fast as the Evo but what I have I am trying to figure out things to make it alittle meaner than stock.
